Lindey's German Village

Lindey's is in German Village which means parking is limited so I suggest using their valet parking. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The ambiance inside the restaurant is nice, and they have several seating areas for diners, making for a quieter setting. Our server quickly got our beverage orders and took our food orders. The barramundi entree was tasty, but the Romesco sauce was not a favorite addition even though it is used with Mediterranean fish dishes. The Faroe salmon was excellent as was the roasted chicken. As for desserts, I got the Basque cheesecake but found out it has a different texture than the New York style which I prefer. Overall, an excellent restaurant which we all liked.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere

My husband and I are on a very long cross country road trip and during our first 10 days Lindey’s has been our favorite dinner spot so far. It’s in a lovely neighborhood. Service is attentive and personable, the rooms are appealing and the food is excellent. We appreciated the window-side table with comfortable chairs. Our appetizers, the potstickers and burrata, were scrumptious! We then shared the bone-in ribeye, which was tender, juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked to medium rare, served with delicious green beans. For dessert we split the Post Mortem, which was totally yummy and too much even for 2 (though we made a valiant effort to conquer it). The glass of Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon that I ordered paired well with the steak. Overall a terrific meal that we thought was a good value for the quality. If we lived within 50 miles of here we’d be back often.

Old school ambiance with lovely service. The food is also amazing. We had the chicken entree and risotto. Both lovely. I don't think it needs to be reserved for special occasions, although it fits the bill for that. It'd be a comfortably although nicer regular night meal also.

Great place for special occasion events.

Recommend Lindey’s for special-event gatherings, based on our experience in upstairs private room: Quality food (appetizers, drinks, entrees, dessert), pre-planning was easy/professional, excellent service and staff knows the right balance between being attentive and letting the good times roll.

An outstanding restaurant!

My wife and I have been to Lindey's three times now. I wish it was three hundred! The food is absolutely top-notch. My only regret is that we didn't find this place 15 years ago. We have only been there for dinner on weekends--be aware that it will be crowded and loud. We'll be back!

Horrible experience.

Treated horribly, when I asked why the fries were not cooked and why the grilled cheese was poorly made. Bowl size is a joke. Cup anyplace else. Not someplace I would recommend to an enemy. Never again for myself. Miss the Lindy's of the past.

If I could give 6 stars...

If I could give our experience 6 stars I would. We took our friend out for her birthday on a very rainy Saturday night... staff was A+ before we even sat down. We needed help with something prior to and they were on top of it. We ordered the Crispy Tempura Cauliflower and Burrata for our first course. The best lobster bisque all three of us have ever had for our second course, and the Duroc Pork Chop and the Shrimp Angel Hair Pasta for our entrees. Let me tell you about that pork chop! A fantastic combination of flavors and cooked to perfection. We finished with the Creme Brulee and the Cheesecake. MMMM mmm mmm. I do wish we have had tried the Post Mortem as well... but a girl can only eat so much. Looks like there will be another visit in the summer to check out the beautiful patio. The incredible food wasn't even the best part! It was Megan! She is top notch! She is perfect amount of professional and funny. I can't praise her enough. We are all in the service industry and she is a rare gem. She had answers for every question, our drinks never went empty, and she kept us laughing. The whole experience was such a wonderful time. Thank you Lindey's!

Chefs special wasn’t fantastic - medley with the trout was not complimentary and taste … Steak frites : fries tasted like they were not freshly cooked and the steak (med - rare ) was ok but several pieces were too chewy to process. I loved the building - got side eyed by the hostess. No idea why maybe because I wasn’t wearing a jacket ? Decor Is so nice. I wanted to love this place. Great drinks

Great brunch at Lindey's in German Village

Tasty Lunch

We dropped in for lunch and we’re pleasantly surprised. The service was top notch. Even our vegetarian kids loved their meals. This place richly deserves its top rating.

A Must Go

When you’re in the area, you need to go to Lindey’s. Sitting outside was lovely and romantic. Our server, Ryan, was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Walleye was the special and it was scrumptious! The frozen Bellini was happiness in a glass!

good food, but service was lacking

Family dinner for special occasion. Service was not what it used to be. Wine not available that was listed and when we asked to speak to wine steward we were told most wines are available. Food was good, but while still eating apps/salads our entrees were brought out and they stood there with plates hovering over our table with no where to put them. A favorite entree item was no longer on the menu.

Great find in German Village🇩🇪

Came to German Village for the day and stumbled upon Lindey’s. So glad we did! Party of 3 moms/daughters and we all enjoyed our meals. We had the burrata & pot stickers for app. Turkey and Gruyère sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend and will definitely go back. Patio & courtyard almost felt like I was back in NOLA
