About
Is this Heaven? No, it’s Iowa. A place of fertile soil, traditional values and simple pleasure. And, in Dyersville, Iowa, at the century-old Lansing family farm with its quaint, and oh-so-recognizable house, baseball still ranks as a favorite pastime for all ages. What better place to carve a baseball diamond from a corn field and to make a movie about pursuing one’s dream, no matter how much effort it takes? From tours of the inside of the iconic Field of Dreams Farm House, to our retail store, to our concessions stand, there certainly is plenty to do at the place dreams come true! Is this Heaven? We sure think so! The Movie Site will be closed to the public Friday, 8/5/22 - Sunday, 8/14/22 to prepare for the highly anticipated MLB at Field of Dreams game Thursday, August 11 between the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.

    Welcoming Stay
Tour guide was very good. We rented the house to stay the night in. They keep everything clean and makes it feel home like. Everyone we came across was very friendly. Played some catch and did some hitting on the field. Will definitely try and make the trip again.

    Glad I made the trip.
I went with both of my adult sons. We planned this trip and then did a weekend Cub game in Chicago. I absolutely enjoyed the experience but if you're only going to the ballfield, there's not much to do overall. We arrived early (8am) and had the whole field to ourselves. We played catch, pitched off the mound, sat on the top seats of the bleachers and hit ground balls to each other. We chose not to do the tour, more than a few people I have spoken with said they wouldn't do the tour if they could it over again. Price point and "everything you hear are on the DVD extras" were the reason. I read a review that the gift shop was disappointing and I agree, it is. Not much of a selection and the magnets were "meh". It is underwhelming considering the potential. Talked with field caretaker, he was great and told us some good stories. We brought our own drinks too, which helped. The thing I wish we would have done is gone into Dyersville for the movie museum. Would I ever go back? Probably not. It's something off my bucket list and I'm glad I did it.

    Baseball fan? Stop here
Impromptu stop while we were on the road and it didn’t disappoint! We got to play baseball on the field (bats, balls, and gloves were provided), walk through the corn, and shop in the gift shop. All ages were here enjoying the site. If you’ve seen the movie you will enjoy a visit!

Magical time at Field of Dreams
We rented the house and field for a pre-college trip with our grandson and his parents. He smacked 7 balls into the corn and even got pitched to by a ghost player from the movie! We played ball under the lights well into the night, what an adrenaline high, each one of us felt like a kid again. As our grandson prepares for his college years, he’ll be packing treasured Grandfather/Father/Son memories that will last forever. We’ve traveled the world and have seen much of this beautiful country, Iowa being our 49th state, and I can truly say that Field of Dreams was by far our most magical experience ever!

    Great experience!
House tour was very informative, thanks to our knowledgeable guide, and is an absolute must for any visit to Field of Dreams. The field itself is an amazing sight to see. Being able to play ball on that field, batting practice, fielding, etc. was a great experience. Having a catch with my son where Ray and John had a catch, is something I’ll remember and treasure forever. This is definitely a place where dreams come true!

    Wanna have a catch?
If you are even remotely a baseball fan or a fan of the movie, you should go! They ask for a donation upon entering..recommended amounts, but you ca. say no if you need to! We were there on a Saturday. Many ppl of all ages were there having a catch, running the bases, and taking photo s walking into and out if the corn. There is a concession stand with hot dog and snacks etc. it has drink cozy souvenirs for $5….which I didn’t see in the gift shop..and are prob one of the cheapest souvenirs. The gift shop is expensive. Tshirts we’re $34. Hrs about the same. I think there were stickers..which we didn’t see until later! Posters wee $10 ish. The 4 is just mainly for the cost in the gift shop and lack of certain shirts in a range of sizes. We will never forget this memory and we highly recommend a visit!

    Good
Step into a simpler time. Had a hot dog at the snack bar because we always have a hot dog at the ball game. Watched the senior citizens step into the outfield corn and expect their younger self to step out of the corn. Round the bases at your own speed, pose on the mound or sit in the bleachers. Take a tour of the house on the hill or just sit on a bench out front. Watched a crowd play ball, one eye on the approaching lightening and rain.

    Baseball Lovers Bucket List!
It’s true that if you build it, they will come…The Field of Dreams was a total baseball lovers bucket list dream come true! They had a really nice little gift shop. It’s amazing that it’s free to visit and play on the field (although donations are encouraged). We had fun chatting with other baseball fans—I even played catch for a bit with a Yankees fan (I’m from Cleveland). We had fun taking photos by the house, walking into the cornfields and playing on the field. It was a perfect place to spend a couple of hours basking in baseball nostalgia!

A Great Way to Spend a Few Hours
Field of Dreams is one of only 10 films I own. It was fun to hear about the making of the movie and being on the set so to speak. Our guide was very good and made the experience enjoyable. The field and tall corn looked great. Was fun to see young kids playing ball on the actual field used in the movie. Am sure they will remember that the rest of their lives.

Great fun for fans of the movie!
What a fun morning we had! Our guide for the house tour was knowledgeable and allowed plenty of time for questions. Lots of fun trivia and history of the house and movie deal were included in the tour. Afterward, we played catch and hit a few balls on the diamond. Then, we walked to the edge of the field where there are signs with QR codes to make your own digital baseball cards, and to replicate walking through the corn. If you’re a fan of the movie, this tour is a lot of fun. Also, the surrounding countryside is just beautiful.

Stunning to spend time on the field and in the house. The tour was fantastic. Lots of lore around the movie and the story. Really enjoyed staying overnight and being able to turn the lights on. I'm sure it's way better when it's warmer and the corn is up, but just being there was magical even at that time of year

If you liked the movie, you should love the experience of seeing the actual field and farmhouse. We also took the farmhouse tour which was well worth the money.

This is a beautiful, quiet, serene place and to just sit on the porch swing and take it all in is a welcome experience.

There is no entry fee to the grounds but they accept donations. There is a gift shop and you do pay for the farmhouse tour.

Visited this movie site on a Wednesday. They suggest a donation of $20 when you drive up, stopping at a little pseudo guard shack type hut with a greeter there to collect. They have a souvenir shop, operated by another retail entity with overpriced items that are vaguely associated with the movie theme. The field is still there along with the bleachers as they appeared in the movie. The house is there and they offer a 30 minute tour of the downstairs with some local history offered. Not sure how much they charge for the tour. At the time if our visit, there was no corn growing g yet (late April). But they do have a container with baseballs available in case you'd like to "have a catch". All in all, not much to really see here, but it was still cool to see the field and drive in on the roads where the cars came in from all over to see the baseball magic that was appearing in Iowa.

Title is not a typo. I was here in 2018 and loved every second. Informal, gift shop in a trailer, no rules. This time it has gone corporate. Five stars for the field, running the bases and having a catch with David from Louisiana. One star for the rest. A) The heavy handed 'request' for a $20 'donation', B) The outrageously priced gift shop. Among other overpriced items was a mini bat that was $25. It was $9 at the Louisville Slugger Museum and $13 at Cooperstown (I looked on line). Also a mediocre hot dog was $8 plus tax and ONE souvenir beer was $10 (no thanks). Trying to get anywhere near the MLB field is a '$200 fine and removal from the site." I am glad I went back one more time, glad I rewatched a movie I love and will fondly remember having a catch with David. Too bad the rest put a damper on the experience. Read the other 1, 2 and 3 star reviews. I am not alone.

The tour with Craig was great. Very informative with lots of background and insight on the house and how the site was selected. The field was in great shape and it was a special feeling to be on the field and have a game of catch with our son.

It was a WONDERFUL day at the field. We took the house tour, and no one was there so we had a leisurely tour. the docent was new, but he was SO MUCH fun. He answered all of our questions and gave us additional insights and information. Just as we were going to the field two busses of MS students pulled in and rushed the field. We should have done the field first, but it was ok.

It was magical in many ways. We saw where Kevin Costner carved "Ray loves Amy" on the bleacher seat. I would advise people to go in the late summer or fall when the corn is high, but it didn't fit in our time frame. Maybe next time.
