Meet Queen Camilla's Siblings
Camilla has one sister, Annabel Elliot. Her brother, Mark Shand, tragically died in 2014.
Major Bruce Shand and the Honorable Rosalind Maud Cubitt married in 1946, and soon had three children: Camilla, born 1947; Annabel, born 1949; and Mark, born 1951. "We had this enchanted childhood," Annabel Elliot told Vanity Fair. "Unlike a lot of our generation, we had this incredibly warm, easy relationship with our parents. We didn’t have nannies. All our friends growing up would immediately be drawn to my mother. She was completely straightforward, and one of the warmest, kindest people."
Mark, tragically, passed away in 2014. "It is with deep sadness that we have to confirm that the Duchess of Cornwall's brother, Mark Shand, has today passed away in New York," Clarence House said in a statement at the time. "Mr Shand died in hospital as a result of a serious head injury which he sustained during a fall last night. The duchess, the Prince of Wales and all her family members are utterly devastated by this sudden and tragic loss."
Camilla's family will play a role at the coronation in May—her sister, Annabel, is one of her ladies in attendance, and three of her grandsons will serve as pages of honor. We will also definitely see her children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Get to know Camilla's sister Annabel and brother Mark here:
