Austin High School Reviews

My time at Austin has been fun. I this is only my second and last year at Austin. When I transferred I was welcomed by everyone. In sports you actually feel like a family where everyone has fun together. I live how the teachers actually cared about their students and help guide them. I’m grateful to my teachers who was there for me in a bad time in my life. At Austin I got connected with a poet who help me publish my own works of poetry. Where I got to perform in front of 200 hundred people. This year I got to go with cheer and band to Natchitoches, Louisiana to walk a parade and go to the festival afterwards. It was so beautiful. At Austin I get to experience things I would have never experienced before.
I will always honor and respect Austin High School. The teachers always there to try and help you. The Collage and Career Center is helpful and are always trying to try and help you, no matter the situation. However, the Main Office might need improvements. My experiences with the Main Office aren't positive. I am a person dealing with some mental disorders, I was an AP student, however, my mental health was left uncheck and was requiring to lower my AP classes to Pre-AP or regular classes. The office staff never listen. Me and my gradians keep asking and doing all the steps but they would say they will look into it. It keep going for a year and a half. With my mental health being severely unchecked I did choices I regret that made me end up in a hospital. When I returned they haven't decided about my class changes. The office staff would always act annoyed every time I went to the point that I felt I was a bother and a problem. Office staff should be more open to students.
I had lots of fun and learned many things. The whole experience there taught me many things I didn’t know and will use in the future.
