In Preternia, the Eternian version of heaven, Adam is carving symbols into a gravestone for Orko. Adam, Teela, and Evil-Lyn all take their time to say last words about Orko. Calling out to the forest, Adam asks for the site around the gravestone to be changed and, through Moss Man, the grass around the base of the gravestone changes to that seen on Trolla. Realising that the group is trapped aboard Preternia — given Preternia only allows entry, not exit — Adam gives his half of the sword to Teela. Adam explains that despite this fact, there may be a chance for them to escape; he and Teela go in search of King Grayskull.

Roboto and the other members of the group take the two halves of the sword to He-Ro, but are dismayed to find that they are unable to consolidate the two halves without the aid of a very powerful forge. Andra proposes that they convert the entire Central Tower into a forge, which will hopefully give them the heat needed to consolidate the sword once again.

MOU-105-King Greyskull's tower

The Central Tower.

Teela and Adam face resistance on their journey to find the original He-Man, however, and are forced to face off with numerous incarnations of the He-Man legacy including: Vikor, King Grayskull, and Wun-Dar. King Grayskull tells the two that they choose their forms on Preternia, but none have used lesser forms until Adam arrived.

That night, gathered at a fire, King Grayskull gives a brief backstory to the Sword of Power and furthermore, reveals that Grayskull was named after him, and that there is a portal in his tower that will allow them to leave the planet. When asked why he hasn't returned from Preternia, Grayskull tells the two that he is dead and happy on Preternia — returning from such would be unnatural.

The group are able to modify the building into a forge, and decide that Evil-Lyn will use the remainder of the ember to start a reactor in Roboto, which will act as the main source of the forge; Roboto warns everyone to retreat to a safer distance should anything go wrong.

Meanwhile, Adam approaches Teela and apologizes for lying about being He-Man. Teela tells him that she needed time to process both Adam's death and the lie. Wondering why she came to Preternia, Adam questions the stability of Eternia's magic, and finally realises that things are dying back home. Teela walks off moments later and Moss Man arrives to talk with Adam. He tells Adam that he can return home, but he would never be able to return to Preternia again.

MOU-105-Return to Eternia

The group return to Eternia.

Roboto is successful in his quest to consolidate the sword, but the sword causes an explosion which claims Roboto's life. Roboto explains to Teela with his last breath that for a moment he was more than just a machine. Heading to the Grayskull Tower, King Grayskull activates the portal. Adam returns to Eternia with the other members of the group. Leaving the portal, the group find themselves outside of the Hall of Wisdom while it is under siege from Tri-Klops.

Duncan has been fending off the cultists of Motherboard who attack on Rotons. He is surprised to see Teela, and even more so to find Adam has returned to the land of the living. An overjoyed Cringer leaps into the arms of the young Prince.

Inside the Hall of Wisdom, Teela hands Adam the sword and the group descend into the depths of the hall wherein the orb was destroyed. Adam restores the magic using the sword, and the Sorceress is rejuvenated. The Hall of Wisdom is once more transformed back into Castle Grayskull.

MOU-105-Skeletor's return

Evil-Lyn and Beast Man return to Skeletor's side.

Whilst everything seems to be going right, the group are surprised when the Havoc Staff forms once more from Evil-Lyn's satchel and stabs Adam in the back as he is about to transform into He-Man. It is wielded by Skeletor, who apologizes to Evil-Lyn for the deception and reveals that after his "death", he was forced to hide his essence in her staff. With Skeletor's return, Evil-Lyn and Beast Man return to his side. Skeletor takes the Sword of Power and invokes the power of Grayskull, declaring himself Master of the Universe as his image looms in the sky over Grayskull.

Trivia[]

  • The 1987 toy dinosaur Bionatops makes its first animated appearance. Three Turbodactyls can also be spotted in the sky.
  • The character of He-Ro makes his first animated appearance. He was planned for the original toy line, but went unproduced until the Masters of the Universe Classic line in 2009.
  • The character named Wun-Dar is based on a mysterious, brown haired mail-away version of the He-Man action figure that fans named "Wonder Bread He-Man" because it was thought to have been associated with a promotion by that brand. The name Wun-Dar was given to it when the character was released as an exclusive in the Masters of the Universe Classics line in 2010.
  • Vikor was first released as an action figure in the MOTU Classics line in 2011 and was based on concept art for He-Man created by Mark Taylor.
  • The character Kuduk is based off of Kuduk Ungol from the original Filmation series, however while Kuduk Ungol was the Sorceress' direct predecessor in Origin of the Sorceress, this version comes from a much more ancient Eternian past.
  • After taking the power of Grayskull, Skeletor becomes "Skelegod", the name given to the action figure of Skeletor in this form. The design is based on the all powerful Skeletor's appearance in the final issues of DC's He-Man: The Eternity War comic book series and the final shot of this episode is based on the cover to Eternity War issue 14, Death Eternal, released March 2016.
