A momentous occasion unfolded at Spartanburg Day School this morning with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Valerie M. Barnet Theatre. The new theatre, named after beloved and long-time SDS theatre teacher Valerie Barnet, is set to begin construction this summer adjacent to the Mildred Harrison Dent Fine Arts Center.
Spartanburg Day School is excited to announce the return of football to its athletic offerings and the appointment of Patrick Moffitt as program head for football and Upper School and Middle School admissions associate.
Students and faculty gathered Friday for the annual Spirit of the Griffin assembly, celebrating and recognizing all who learn and live in community as Griffins. The assembly is meant to honor the essence of the SDS community, to celebrate tradition and to recognize excellence and character.
Building upon a strong foundation and tradition, information gathered through comprehensive study, parent and player interest, and growing enrollment, football and lacrosse will join the roster of athletic offerings in the 2024-25 school year. These additions will grow Griffin Athletics from 10 sports to 12.
Parents, faculty, alumni and guests are invited to enjoy fantastic food, music and spirits while browsing exciting items up for auction. You won't want to miss this year's event!
