Hi Osessamuel,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I can imagine the inconvenience you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to fix the issue. However, I would appreciate if you could answer a few questions to narrow down the issue in order to provide you with better assistance.

  1. Are you connecting this device through USB cable or wirelessly?
  2. Are you getting any error message/code while connecting your Blackberry device to computer?
  3. Have you tried any other device to connect? Was the result same?
  4. What is the make and model of your computer?

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if the issue persists.

Method 1:

Please try the fixit(s) provided below which will help you resolve common issues related to USB ports and devices. This fixit automatically diagnose and fix problems with hardware. (USB) Mice, keyboards and other USB device are not detected by the device manager or when they are not working.

If Method 1 does not help, try method 2.

Method 2:

Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

  1. Open Device Manager by pressing Windows key + X and select device manager from the list. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  2. In the list of hardware categories, find and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  3. Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
  4. Restart the computer, and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
  5. Plug in the removable USB device, and then test to make sure that the issue is resolved.

Do get back to us with all the information required and result of proposed suggestion. We will be happy to assist you.

Regards,

Ramesh Kumar.

Hi,

Thank you for the update on the issue.

If you are unable to share files through Bluetooth then the issue might occur if the Bluetooth service is turned off, or due to missing or incompatible Bluetooth Adapter driver or incorrect Bluetooth settings.

Let's try these methods below and check if that helps.

Method 1: Run Hardware and devices troubleshooter

The Hardware Troubleshooter is an automated tool which will check the hardware connected to the computer for any known issues with it and provides the details and on how to fix them. Follow these steps and run the troubleshooter.

  1. Press Windows key to launch the Start screen.

  2. Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes and click on Troubleshooting.

  3. In the new window, click View all on the left pane.

  4. In the list of options, click on Hardware and devices.

  5. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

If issue persist, follow method 2

Method 2: Check for the Bluetooth service

I would you check if Bluetooth Support service is started.

  1. Press Windows key + R

  2. Type services.msc and press Ok

  3. Find Bluetooth Support Service

  4. Start it and set it as Automatic

If the issue persist, follow method 3

Method 3: Try to re-enable your Bluetooth device

It is also possible that the Airplane mode is On of your computer.

Airplane mode is a setting that gives you a quick way to turn off all wireless communication on your PC. As the name implies, it's especially useful when you're on an airplane. Wireless communication includes Wi-Fi, mobile broadband, Bluetooth, GPS or GNSS, near field communication (NFC), and all other types of wireless communication.

Let’s check the settings.

  1. Open PC Settings

  2. Select Network, and then Airplane mode.

If your Bluetooth device was previously paired, there should be an Enable Bluetooth switch.  Switch it to On.

Please do let us know the results. Feel free to write us back for any further assistance with Windows, we'll be glad to assist you.

Regards,

Ramesh Kumar.
