Longtime Dairy Queen set to close in St. Cloud

The corner of 25th Avenue and Division Street in St. Cloud has been home to a seasonal Dairy Queen for more than six decades, but that will come to an end on Sunday, Sept. 2. "Hopefully, we can send everyone away happy one last time," said owner Bob Lahr. The tiny vintage cement building is being demolished to make room for a new CVS Pharmacy. A new Dairy Queen location just south of the existing building is set to open in February.

KARE-TV reports the land where the building sits on Division Street has been purchased by another company, so the business is relocating. Concrete falls from pedestrian bridge in St. Cloud

Part of University Drive was closed to traffic Saturday night after concrete had fallen from a pedestrian bridge near the St. Cloud State University campus, the St. Cloud Times reports. No injuries or damage was reported. The bridge remains closed to pedestrians until further notice.
