A Poem: Imperfect Juan Cameron Translated by Steven F. White From the Book: Poets of Chile: a bilingual anthology, 1965-1985 |
The rain arrives to contemplate the plaza
The leaves withered slogans of the summer
that will soon return
I don’t regret anything
The spider web will be back after the storm
This isn’t the time for metaphors
My tiny country the solar system
It’s enough for me
My insignificance is infinite
The school bell
rings in this glass
where the stars spin like lost years
I don’t regret anything
Outside it’s raining.
