An alumnus of the prestigious National School of Drama, Rajendra Gupta is an Indian film, television, and theatre actor. He first started his career as a television actor and later was active in both the television and film industry. He became the household name with Chandrakanta (TV series), which was aired on DD National. After that, he appeared in countless TV series and his name was included in the Limca Book of Records (1990) for appearing in the most number of television shows. His most popular shows are Saaya and Chidiya Ghar.

However, his popularity as a film actor was way too low when compared to his television innings. Some of his notable film projects are Mission Kashmir (2000), Lagaan (2001), Sehar (2005), Guru (2007), Rakht Charitra (2010), Tanu Weds Manu (2011), and Paan Singh Tomar (2012). His 2018 projects include bilingual spy thriller film titled Vishwaroopam II in Tamil and Vishwaroop II in Hindi helmed by Kamal Haasan. His other releases includes PM Narendra Modi (2019) and Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi (2021).
