Obituary of Kevin Douglas AYERS

1972 - 2020

Kevin Ayers, 47, beloved husband of Keiko, died peacefully January 15, 2020 at the National Cancer Center in Tokyo, surrounded by family.

Born to Cyril and Betty Ayers, Kevin was raised in Calgary where he received all of his schooling, obtaining a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from the University of Calgary and an Architectural Technologies Diploma from SAIT.  He moved to Yokohama, Japan in 2000 to teach English, first at Nova and then at Berlitz until 2019.  Kevin and Keiko were married in Yokohama in 2018.

Kevin was inquisitive, with an exploring nature; always trying something new until he found his perfect match, in this case living and working in Japan. He truly loved his lifestyle in Yokohama, while regularly visiting Calgary for family events. Kevin was always cheerful, smiling, honest and optimistic.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Keiko; his parents, Betty and Cyril Ayers; his brothers, Dieter (Lynn) and Chad; his nephews Nick and Guy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
