Located just a short walk from downtown Nelson, Casa Del Soul is a serene, colourful artists' retreat. Ideal for those looking to relax and discover their inner creative spirit while experiencing all that the area has to offer. A guest entrance leads to two private bedrooms, a spacious family room and a recently renovated shared bathroom. All guests are welcome for breakfast in the dining room adjacent the art studio, where you are also welcome to take a free art lesson. Room Rates are in Canadian funds and are $95 (single occupancy) or $115 (double occupancy) per room, per night. Free wireless internet, satellite television and organic breakfast* are included. Casa Del Soul also offers safe free parking. Please let us know in advance if you will be requiring space for a vehicle.

We came to town not knowing there were two large events that weekend and after calling every campground, hotel, and B&B (all full) we were so blessed to find Maya! She prepared and extra room that she doesn't often rent out for us, greeted us with warm affection late at night, and was up early to make us the most enormous, delicious organic breakfast. She literally saved us from sleeping the night in our car, and we are so thankful. It felt like being welcomed home after a long day on the road. What a wonderful and unique place - we will certainly be back to stay longer!

This B and B is very comfortable, with fairly compact bedrooms, nice shared bathroom, and very comfortable shared lounge area. Maya is an excellent host, and provides a wonderful breakfast with amny choices available. If you are into art then you will love this place, too, as you will be surrounded by artist Maya's work. It is about 12 minutes walk to downtown Nelson, which is an added bonus. Recommended!

Everything about this place was great, but Maya was the best! Lovely human being and wonderful to be staying in her house - which is fab. Incredible things everywhere abound. She is interested in what you are and what you are doing. She cares about her guests and thrives on people's stories from around the world. Best breakfast anywhere as well. Staying here is part of staying in Nelson and you'd be mad not to stay here.

We had an awesome time visiting Nelson and I will most definitely come back to Maya and the Casa del Soul. Very nice place and lots to do here. Will HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who wants a B&B with reasonable prices.

Had a lovely stay at the Casa del Soul in Nelson. Great location that's near enough to the town centre for a lovely walk and far enough away that it's nice and quiet.
The rooms are a little small but the beds are comfortable and there's a lovely view of Bob (the Big Orange Bridge) and the lake from the living room.
Maya is a lovely host and she cooks delicious organic food and is willing to accommodate unique diets. She also offers a free painting lesson with your stay which is a fun experience that leaves you with a personalized souvenir.
Your experience at Casa deal Soul will be creative and uniquely "Nelsonesque", I highly recommend it :)

I have stayed at the Casa several times, and each time was overwhelmed by the beauty, kindness, generosity, and peace in this oasis. I'm a world-traveler and have stayed in countless hotels, hostels, guesthouses, and bed and breakfasts. By far, the Casa del Soul is outstanding for the value and quality of care you will be given.
Maya is a wonderful host and will provide to you a breakfast you will remember, and, served in the dining room and artist's studio...Maya is a well-known artist in North America and Europe...her work is 'everywhere'...and...if you wish you can take part in art classes she hosts.
This is a once in a life time opportunity to experience art, beauty, outstanding views of Kootenay Lake, a lovely bed...and magnificent breakfast in the morning.

We have stayed at Maya's B&B several times and greatly appreciate her warm hospitality, lovely accommodations and especially the fantastic breakfasts. This last time we had both our adult children with us for a ski trip to Whitewater Resort and it worked out great with just a 30 minute drive to the hill. We definitely plan to be back!

Had a really nice stay at Casa del Soul while visiting my daughter in Nelson. Cozy, warm quiet room, great breakfast, even a watercolor lesson! Only two rooms, so best book ahead. It is a good idea to turn your car around in the driveway, so that you will have a safer and easier exit to the street when you drive out. Because Nelson is quite hilly, your GPS may not be as precise as it would be on flat land.

We arrived in Nelson olanning to camp but due to a car festival were told everything was full. They then told us about Casa del Soul. From the description we approached the place with caution but once we met Maya the owner all negative thoughts disappeared. She is without a doubt one of the friendliest persons we have ever met. The house has fantastic views from the balcony, is well situated for access to Baker Street and has good Wi Fi. Maya also very kindly offers to do your washing for you provides a fantastic breakfast every morning. Yes the rooms are small, but very comfortable and the experience makes up for these flaws. Well worth a visit.
