Darmirra Brunson is an American actress. Shee is best known for her role as Drew Scott in Tyler Perry's sitcom Love Thy Neighbor.
Biography/Career[]
Darmirra Brunson is an up and coming comedienne and actress, with a witty and hilarious comedy style. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, this young starlet moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of 10. When she was 14, she made her first movie appearance along side her father, comedian Darryl Brunson, in the independent film The Chatroom. She attended Birmingham High School where she honed in on her comedic timing while performing in various plays and state competitions. At this early age Darmirra attracted the attention of Director and Producer Garry Marshall. She later landed a role in the hit series Girlfriends when she was discovered by casting director Robi Reed.
Although Darmirra has performed stand up in such clubs as The Comedy Store, The Improv, and The Laugh Factory, her true passion lies within sketch comedy. This passion earned her a spot in the Showtime Comedy Special Chocolate Sundaes hosted by Tommy Davidson. Darmirra is also an avid YouTuber and YouTube sensation, bringing the hottest celebrity impersonations and original characters. She is the writer, director and editor of The Darmirra Show. Her show has over 40,000 subscribers and six million views! Darmirra Brunson is known for doing parodies of entertainers such as Rihanna, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Whitney Houston and Wendy Williams just to name a few. Her original and unique webseries Gretchen Murdle Goes to Hollywood and All About Aquafina are quickly gaining ground.
Director and Writer, Tyler Perry recently discovered Darmirra's work while conducting a nation wide talent search/contest. Over 16,000 submissions were made but Darmirra was chosen as the winner.
