Jeremy Wang (born: November 25, 1991 (1991-11-25) [age 32]), better known online as Disguised Toast (or simply Toast), is an Taiwanese-born Canadian gaming YouTuber and Twitch streamer who mainly makes content around League of Legends and Among Us on both platforms.

Personal life[]

Toast was born in Taipei, Taiwan as the youngest of a family with an older brother and sister. At the age of one, his family moved to Penang, Malaysia, which is where he spent most of his childhood. He often alternated between Chinese and English schools there, which Toast remarks not only allowed him to be able to speak in Mandarin, but also has a profound effect in the way he speaks in English.

Later on, he and his family moved to Ontario, Canada where he studied high school at Queen's University in Kingston. During his time there, he self-taught himself how to program and animate video games in Flash. An unknown company bought the rights to one of his Flash games for $1000. This has started him on a journey to "make as much money as he can".

His time with making Flash games motivated him to study at the University of Waterloo, majoring in computer science. During the summer, he worked at different companies, such as Zynga (FarmVille), Mercedes-Benz, the NFL, and the Royal Bank of Canada. However, in his third year, he eventually dropped out of computer science because while he enjoyed its practical applications, he struggled with its theoretical aspects, particularly with Big Oh notations. He shifted to a major in mathematics, but felt he was not cut out to finish the full four-year degree, so he went and graduated a three-year Bachelor's degree in mathematics instead.

While contemplating at the lack of opportunities presented for his three-year degree, Blizzard Entertainment announced its newest game at the time, Hearthstone. While Toast was initially disappointed it was not Diablo 4, saying "nobody wants to play just a card game", his brother was very into card games, which allowed Toast to try it out himself, eventually getting into it.

History[]

Sometime after, Toast began making Hearthstone plays and uploading them to YouTube. While making content on Hearthstone, Toast also made videos on the origins of the characters of some cards. In October of 2017, Toast joined OfflineTV, a group of internet personalities that currently consist of Pokimane, Michael Reeves, and more. In November 2019, Toast announced that he moved from Twitch to Facebook Gaming but later on moved back to Twitch on November 2021.

He has recently started uploading content on Among Us, a game made by Innersloth, he has played with different YouTubers which consists of Valkyrae, Sykkuno, Corpse Husband, and others. Disguised Toast is well known in the Among Us community as one of the best Among us players in the world. He has made high IQ imposter plays and can easily find out who is the Imposter as a crewmate. Most of his titles have a high IQ (increasing by 100 IQ for every video).

Controversy[]

Twitch Ban[]

On January 11, 2022, Toast was banned from Twitch due to a violation of Twitch's Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) policy by live-streaming the anime Death Note. Similarily to fellow OfflineTV member Pokimane who livestreamed the series Avatar: The Last Airbender.[1][2] 2 days later, he got unbanned and revealed that he had faked his ban by asking LilyPichu to false-copystrike him while he was live. Toast said he did this so he could scare his audience and prank them.[3]
