Self-deprecation, posh boy antics and massive irreverence, Jack Whitehall crosses the line in every direction, but somehow, he comes out on top.

Beginning the gig by shovelling horse manure off the stage and ending it by telling the crowd he’ll happily suck the d**k (you’ll need to go see him for the context), Jack’s show is a laugh a minute. It’s stupid, a bit offensive and cheeky – but with his excellent delivery and ability to build up a joke, you just enjoy the ‘’oh silly Jack‘’ thing.

It’s a testament to him as a stand-up comedian that in Yorkshire of all places, the posh man child shtick goes down a storm. Especially his story about being caught in Amsterdam by the Google Earth camera, and the ever so reliable British experience in an airport routine.

These stories are not fabricated or exaggerated though, as the photos on the big screen can attest, and this is what makes the over the top self-deprecation tolerable – he’s genuinely a bit of a shambles, but we love those kind of people don’t we?

A recurring theme of the second part of the show was his attempts to break America and how his one line in the Disney film Frozen ended up on the cutting room floor. A slapstick ending saw Jack dress up as that character in an amusing sketch, and 10,000 people inside the Sheffield Arena went home satisfied, probably slightly offended but most likely enamoured with the mischievous Jack Whitehall.
