Season 8 finale??

General Discussion

I just finished the last season of DH and have so many questions, the ending and the whole storyline this season literally made ZERO sense. Lynette and Gabby were one of the best housewives besides Bree (my queen) and this season really painted them in a hideous light.

I guess I’ll just start listing a few things and would love your guys’ opinion on these:

  1. What the hell was the point of bringing back Orson for two seconds? Did he really die or did everyone just assume he off’d himself? So sad they couldn’t let him be after his messy divorce from Bree and had to completely destroy his character…

  2. So Bob defended everyone on everything from immigration issues to criminal defense but couldn’t be Bree’s attorney in S8? Bree’s behavior was also definitely odd this season. I get that trauma, loneliness and the burden of their collective secret made her fall into old patterns like the drinking, but the hoe-ing around was really out of character for her and so was her falling in love with her attorney in the matter of two minutes.

  3. It seemed like the trial was broadcasted outside of Fairview as well, how come neither Andrew nor Danielle showed up to support Bree despite Andrew having been in a few episodes prior to her arrest?

  4. How the hell did they believe Karen’s testimony? Did no one realize Gabby denied knowing Alejandro under oath in her first testimony? Not to mention after the charges against Bree were dropped, no one gave a hoot about Karen. They didn’t even include her in the toast at Bree’s private party.

  5. Just because the girls agreed to take care of Karen shouldn’t have meant that Karen had to return the favor in such a huge way, especially because UNPOPULAR OPINION BUUUUT: Carlos and Gabby should have stepped up, as it was THEIR secret that was the beginning of the whole thing.

  6. Porter convinced Julie to keep the baby because he would step up and take care. So why was Julie taking their baby away in the finale?

  7. Chuck figured out so fast that Ramon Sanchez was Alejandro Perez, yet Trip had to hire a whole lady investigator to find the connection? And Chuck’s cop boyfriend (the one who tampered with evidence and called Bree the B word) couldn’t figure out this connection either? No one took him off the case for being “too close”?

Besides that, when Gabby called Juanita out for letting Celia take the fall for their domestic quarrel, I thought it meant that she would finally confess and do the right thing. Instead she pops by the court and gives Bree a scarf and tells her thank you for taking the fall? I have liked Gabby a lot, admittedly more than the other housewives, but her attitude really irked me.

Obviously I understand Carlos had priors and she was trying to protect her own, but are you really sleeping soundly and shopping for scarves with no guilty conscience while your friend is facing 20y to life? Then she let Karen take the fall! She’s literally never been nice to Karen ONCE. In the same episode she said it was her turn to take care of Karen so she was “naturally drinking”. She also kept Karen and Roy apart just because she doesn’t know how to control her spoiled bratty children.

Also, why did Carlos say he would tell the truth to the police and never actually do it? For someone who, seasons long kept wanting to do meaningful work he had no issue turning a blind eye and let Bree go to jail!

This season was just so irritating and there were so many things that made zero sense. After all of this, they didn’t even stay together and left the lane…

Orson didn't die, if he did then he would have been shown as a ghost

It's not just a case of believing Karen's testimony but it casts doubt in the jury's minds which would give them reason to acquit. Bree didn't have to prove her innocence, just show that something else could have happened.
