19-year-old Danny Rose who was on loan at Oxford United last year has signed for the U's.
Rose was released by Manchester United at the beginning of the summer and seemed to be heading for Bristol Rovers but that deal fell through and Jim Smith swooped.
The teenager had been the reserve team captain at Man U but was deemed surplus to requirements despite turning in a number od dazzling displays for the U's last year.
