I got lucky with this one and found this one at my local used bookstore for about $30! I was adamant about buying it (this was before I found out it goes for astronomically high online) but I bought it anyway. Glad I did! Not only is it worth a whole lot more than I paid for it, but it's also a great set with lots of awesome liner notes from Joni herself. One that comes to mind is the car wreck she mentions she and her then husband, Larry Klein were in right before recording Dog Eat Dog (the picture on the back of the album sleeve). She says that they both nearly died and ended up surviving it, obviously. Really awesome insight into those latter day recordings that not a lot of folks talk about. The demos are great, especially the Two Grey Rooms demo from 1982 and the Good Friends demo, which shows a much more organic sound in contrast to the very 80s synth production of the DED album. I love all four of these albums. In my opinion, Joni only got better as she aged. And this set proves it to me. As far as sound quality goes, it's top notch and probably a step up from the 80s/early 90s releases.
