A pretty standard horror film. A couple that is in the middle of a divorce puts their house up for sale. This draws two psychopaths to their house....that is not a good thing...even if they have great credit. If you like horror movies you might like this one.....other than that it is a movie to stay away from.
An intriguing little thriller with a very dense atmosphere throughout. Among the actors, Brian Geraghty as the psychopath David is best remembered. The film suffers from a slightly sluggish ending, but otherwise the calmly moving story works well.
Brian Geraghty and Tricia Helfer play pretty convincing psychopaths, Rachel Blanchard is the victim who is held captive and Anna Paquin makes an ultra brief appearance as a friend. Well directed slow burn of a movie that takes place in and around a single house, that actually manages to be creepy occasionally and has a good score. The weak, cliched ending hurts things a little bit but overall an enjoyable watch.
I only watched this for Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin aka Bill Compton and SOOKEH Stackhouse. So in other words I stopped watching after 30 minutes.
I'll leave the fact that the villainous couple are implied to be brother and sister with a seemingly incestuous relationship, while this movie was written and directed by Anna Paquin's brother while her and her husband at the time appear in it to the viewers imagination.
No wonder that Andrew Paquin never directed anything after this. The film is an extremely boring.
Revolving around two dangerous criminals who lock a home owner in her basement and take over her house, this is a pretty interesting thriller to begin with. There is an especially intense scene as her ex swings by the house and is seduced by the female criminal (posing as a friend) who ends up killing him in the middle of a passionate embrace. After this strong start though, the film becomes a little stale and repetitive as it pivots between the locked lady trying to convince the more submissive male criminal to let her go, while the female criminal keeps a tight grip on her man. A part towards the end where they invite other couples over for drinks is…
