The Dutton family can't seem to catch a break on Yellowstone, especially now that Roarke Morris has entered the picture.

Roarke, played by Lost and Colony actor Josh Holloway, is "a hedge fund baller, who matches investors with governments to create cities." And while Holloway doesn't think Roarke is evil enough to be considered a villain, he won't deny that his character has some manipulative (albeit, mean-spirited) ways about him: "Think of him as the inevitable hammer. He's not coming at you with bravado or violent energy, but he's just slowly going to keep rolling over you until you're done," Holloway tells GoodHousekeeping.com.

At the start of Yellowstone's third season, Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly) calls out Roarke, who is fly-fishing in the river, for trespassing on the Dutton family's ranch — and according to Josh, that's just the beginning of a complicated relationship between the two. Throughout the season's ten episodes, the two go head-to-head, ultimately causing John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) to get involved at the very end.

As Josh talks about Roarke's relationship with John, he backtracks on his initial statement: "Okay, I guess he's a villain, but no more of a villain than John Dutton," he says. "It's just two opposing forces coming together, which of course, causes a clash."

Roarke Morris (Josh Holloway) rivals John Dutton (Kevin Costner).

Luckily, Holloway confirms that the tension between the two actors only exists onscreen. "I was nervous about joining the show because Kevin Costner is a legend and I love his work," he reflects. When it finally came time for Josh to film with Kevin, he felt added pressure because he "had to do all the talking" and "didn't want to screw it up." This "nerve-wracking" moment ultimately left him inspired: "This guy at this level is still trying to do his best work, and that's impressive."

While Holloway is staying tight-lipped about exactly how his character will shake things up on the show, he promises that the new season of Yellowstone will inspire you want to be "a cowboy, or out there on the ranch" — until things "get bad," that is. It's clear that things will intensify between the Roarke and the Duttons (and well, everyone else) as the season goes on, so he warns that fans should be prepared for drama: "Expect a beautiful opening to a slow burn to a crashing, wild finale. That's all you need to know."
