Sarah Palin grew up in Alaska towns, from Skagway to Wasilla to Anchorage, while her dad taught science and coached high school sports. She and her future husband, Todd Palin, graduated from Wasilla High School in 1982, and she went on to earn her college degree from the School of Journalism at the University of Idaho. Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council, then two terms as the city's mayor and manager, and was elected by her peers as president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. She then chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, and the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. Palin was elected Alaska's youngest, and first female, governor, serving from 2006 to 2009. While serving her state she was tapped as Senator John McCain's running mate in 2008, becoming the first female Republican vice presidential candidate in our nation's history.

The Palins reside in Wasilla with their five children, including a son in the U.S. Army, and one grandson. They enjoy an extended family throughout Alaska and the Lower 48.

I have Sweet Freedom both in Kindle and hard-cover format. I am about 50% completed in reading the Kindle version. Sweet Freedom is not your run-of-the-mill devotional book.

Sarah Palin has taken Bible verses and applied them to politics and every-day life. Conservatives who understand the Three-Legged Stool: National Security, Limited Government, and Social Issues will feel right at home reading it. She addresses ISIS, taxes, abortion, gay marriage, the First and Second Amendments, Article V Convention of States, and general morality.

She tells inspiring stories about forgiveness - such as comedian Louis C.K. who once Tweeted a vile, hate-filled rant against her. C.K. who said he never apologizes for anything, approached Sarah Palin and apologized. He met her at LGA to have a copy of this book signed.

The last two years have been hard for her and she shares some aspects of that here; however, this book is not a memoir like Going Rogue was.

I would consider this a mandatory addition to any Palin fan or supporter's library, but even those who don't like her should give it a read.

The Kindle version is easy to read on my iPhone 6 Plus. The hard-cover version has a notes page following each verse, application, and action plan, so she intended for readers to really interact with this book.

Elijah was hunted for three years after daring to stand up to King Ahab. Almost all of the apostles were martyred, but not before they preached the good news and changed the world.

Sarah suggest the following Action. Today, pray for the Holy Spirit to give you boldness, and look for opportunities to stick your neck out for justice.

What a pleasant surprise this is! There are people who enjoy picking up a book for quick inspirational one page stories -- as a bonus, this one has a Bible verse included. I just happened to see her on TV discussing the book - the price was right - so I bought it on Kindle only because I was curious. Like the author or not, she has published a couple other good books, Alaska videos, and she is always a "what you see is what you get" kind of woman who knows hard work; besides giving the lower states a lot of information about Alaska. I may not be a political fan of hers, but there is a lot to admire about her life and how she faced challenges after being thrust into the limelight. If she had help with this book - fine.....there is good advice in it as well as positive thinking. Moose steaks, anyone?
