Spain Euro 2024 squad: Luis de la Fuente's full team ahead of the tournament
The Spain Euro 2024 squad announcement has been made, as La Roja prepare for the tournament
The Spain Euro 2024 squad has been provisionally announced, with 29 players included as part of Luis de la Fuente's side.
That means the Spain manager will have to whittle down his team to just 26 players ahead of the UEFA deadline on June 7, one week before Euro 2024 kicks off between Germany and Scotland.
There's plenty of reasons to get excited about the Spain Euro 2024 squad, with talented teenagers mixed in with experienced individuals - plus a few uncapped players who could work their way into the final team. Rodri, of course, is the standout star in the side, but he's got the likes of Aymeric Laporte, Dani Carvajal, Alex Grimaldo, Pedri, Ferran Torres and David Raya around him to galvanise the team.
Spain have some exciting teenagers who could be ready to boost their profiles in Germany this summer, too . 17-year-old defender Pau Cubarsi has been included in the 29-man provisional squad and could become the youngest ever Euros player if he were to appear this summer - unless 16-year-old Barcelona teammate Lamine Yamal also features.
Another Barca youngster, Fermin Lopez, has also received his first senior call-up, as has former Newcastle and Leicester forward Ayoze Perez. That has meant Tottenham's Pedro Porro and PSG's Marco Asensio have already missed out on the final team, however, with Luis de la Fuente opting for a different direction in his side this summer.
With their period of dominance long gone, Spain find themselves in a phase of transition – although they'll be hoping that exiting the last World Cup at the hands of Morocco in the quarter-finals was the low point. Euro 2024 represents new opportunity for the Spain Euro 2024 squad, though, with some talented individuals ready to do the business.
They do have one of the toughest Euro 2024 groups, however, with Spain needing to navigate their way past holders Italy, as well as Croatia and Albania. Despite that, each side will argue they have tough Euro 2024 fixtures, though Spain are still among the favourites to go all the way.

Spain manager: Luis de la Fuente
Having managed Spain's U19, U21 and U23 sides – leading the former two to European glory – Luis de la Fuente was promoted to the senior job following Luis Enrique's resignation after La Roja's World Cup exit.
A two-time La Liga champion with Athletic Bilbao as a player, De la Fuente knows what it takes to win big trophies – and he's already guided Spain to glory in the Nations League.
Spain's star player
Rodri
Having won it all with Manchester City, the Spaniard also steps up in vital moments - such as when he scored the Champions League-winning goal against Inter Milan in last season's competition.
He's also got a nastiness about him that often isn't spoken about, an ability to stop attacks with clever fouls that often go unpunished. That could prove vital for Spain's more youthful side, with Rodri's experience coming to the fore.
Kits
Home
There's not a lot going on but it draws on the classic template of Spain shirts of old. There will be some who adore this kit for its familiar look: others may be disappointed with the lack of imagination.
Adidas will stock the Spain Euro 2024 home kit.
Away
There's a lot going on here. Bright yellow and pale blue is one thing, but there's a striking red, too. It's not going to be everyone's cup of sangria… but others are going to love this top.
The Spain Euro 2024 away kit can be purchased at Adidas.
FAQs
How many players are Spain allowed to take to Euro 2024?
Luis de la Fuente will have the option to select 26 players for his Spain Euro 2024 squad. Despite UEFA's best efforts to reduce the squad size back to 23, teams rallied to ensure players didn't become overworked - and probably because they didn't want the added headaches of leaving certain stars out.
