WIFI adapters not showing after windows update

my wifi option was not displaying so restored the system due to which the problem was solved then I updated the version to 1909 from 1809 and the problem again occured now it cant be restored again as the windows is updated recently.

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I want to apologize if you encountered this issue. I understand you have a problem with wifi adapters not showing after Windows update. What is the make and model of your laptop?


Select Start then search Settings
Click Update and Security then Troubleshoot
On the list, Select Internet Connections then Run Troubleshooter

Select Start then search Settings
Click Update and Security then Troubleshoot
On the list, Select Network Adapter then Run Troubleshooter

Please visit your manufacturer's Support Page. Download and install the latest Wireless driver.

Disable/Enable Wifi adapter
Press Start then search Device Manager
Right click or press and hold on your Wireless adapter, click/tap on Disable device
Right-click again then Enable

UPDATE Network Driver
Press Windows+X
Select Device Manager
In the Device Manager, click on the arrow next to Network Adapters
Right-click on your Wireless adapter driver and select Update driver. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the driver. Once updated, restart your PC. Hopefully, the network is restored on your PC.

ROLL BACK DRIVER
Press Windows+X
Select Device Manager
In the Device Manager, click on the arrow next to Network Adapters
Right-click on your Wireless adapter driver and select Properties. Go to the Driver tab and choose Roll Back Driver. Complete the process using the on-screen instructions.
restart your PC

Hello john!! thanks for replying me. My laptop is lenovo g50-80.

I have runed the troubleshooter but it didn't work.

i downloaded the wireless driver from here (https://support.lenovo.com/in/en/downloads/ds104538)

and installed it ..after that the system asked to restart but now I can't find the driver anywhere..I checked the device manager too.

can you help me out through quickassistant?

Open Device Manager > View Tab > Show hidden devices
Expand Network Adapters
Check if you can see your Wireless adapter

Hey john! I downloaded and installed the driver from the link you provided...but it says no appropriate driver needs to be installed..

and checked again in the device manager too..

Thank you for updating me that information. I'm sorry it didn't resolve the issue. Try to Expand the Other devices on Device Manager.

Please try to run Hardware Diagnostics and Operating System Diagnostics.

Run device diagnostics on Lenovo Vantage app

Run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter
Press Start then search command prompt
Right click then run as administrator
type: msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic
Run the troubleshooter
Restart your PC

Boot into Safe Mode
Press Win+R to open Run. type: msconfig
Under Boot tab and put a check on Safe Boot
Restart your computer and it should boot into Safe mode.
Drivers will be installed automatically.
Press Win+R to open Run. type: msconfig
Under Boot tab and uncheck Safe Boot
Restart your computer again to boot in Normal Mode
Check if the Wifi issue is resolved.

I have tried everything you have told..the main thing is there is no wifi or wireless or intel adapter present ..i tried to download them externally but its not working

can you please help me through quickassist unofficially?

I don't have any problem

that will mean a lot to me please as I have my term test starting from monday that is tomorrow

Thank you for updating me that information. I do apologize but I can't do quickassist.

If you recently upgraded to version 1909, You may need to consider rolling back on your previous version of Windows which the Wifi was still working. You have 10 days to rollback after the upgrade.

Press Start then search Recovery Options
Under go back to the previous version of Windows 10
Click Get Started
