This place was recommended to me by my hotel and a friend who lives in Leon so I trusted them. I took the menu del dia and I can only recommend it, it was huge! It comes with a embutidos table for you to try...the typical sausages of Leon. Then, I chose as first dish a soup of chickpeas and they literally brought a pot for me to serve the soup from it. So, there would be like 3-4 dishes of soup, this could alone feed multiple people. Then the main dish was picadillo which came with potatoes, again huge. I could not finish it. They also had many dessers to choose from, the cake was 2 pieces of cake. The portions are massive. 18 euros for menu del dia which could easily be eaten by two. And very nice and kind service, I felt welcomed. I thank you!More

We were very lucky to grab an outdoor table at about 2 pm, since right after that there was a line of people waiting. The menu del dia was 27 Euros, which is more than most other restaurants charge, but the food was very good...(fresh salads, baked fish and a sausage dish) and the service was above average as well. Friendly and efficient. Funny thing though, my husband ordered a glass of wine and they gave him the entire bottle! The waiter said that was included with the menu! They didn’t have the dessert that I wanted from the menu de dia, so they offered me sorbet instead, which was what I wanted in the first place. So, we considered it to be a good deal for a splurge lunch. (Better if everyone drinks wine.)More

Great food and great ambiance. Very busy all day. I went at night and also in the early afternoon and it is always packed, but service is good and quick. They give you tapas with your beverage and the food at the comedor is really...amazing. I tried the Pulpo and the croquetas and they were superb. This is a great place to visit if you happen to be in Leon.More

This place was recommended by Lonely Planet so we had reasonable expectations. It was a bit of a disappointment. We stopped in for lunch. Firstly we were served bread and some not very nice cured beef tongue with our drinks, we assumed this was complimentary,...but it was billed for. Food was okay but quite expensive for what it was certainly when compared to the food we had become accustomed to in other cities in NW Spain e.g. Oviedo, Santander, Bilbao.More

On a Saturday night the bar of Ezequiel was absolutely packed, even at the early hour of 1930. We were lucky to get a table to dine. For Sarah the turbot (€34) was absolutely superb – described as the best she had ever eaten. Tony...had the botillo (€18), described as similar to haggis but actually a well spiced dish of miscellaneous bits of pork, together with cabbage, unusual but also delicious. With ice cream, coffee and a bottle of wine the cost at €73 meant that we booked for a second night which was equally good.More

We had been recommended to try this by our hotel. We asked for authentic, typically local cuisine and this little restaurant on the Main Street to the cathedral scored on both fronts. The woman who served us was so helpful. Her English was a lot...better than our Spanish. Mist if the customers were Spanish. So that was encouraging. We arrive unfashionably early at 8:30. We easily secured a table but when we left it was jumping. We shared the duckling lamb with potatoes and salad. All top quality. It was incredible. We could not finish it. The waitress recommended a local wine which was great and we received a complimentary glass of something local. Also delicious. Not cheap by Spanish standards but very good value for quality and portions. Very happy and would definitely recommend it.More

Just went here for an evening drink at the bar several times while being in León. The place has a lively and authentic “Spanish” atmosphere. Good staff that recognizes you instantly when you drop in for the second time. There’s also a counter with very...tasty ham to eat in or take away. Don’t hesitate to pay the place a visit if you are in the neighborhood.More

Did you book a table and you arrive with your family or your company to have dinner on time? WRONG!!! The table has been disappeared, because according the waitress " el jefe " decided to give your table to someone else. By theway, the table...was booked in person, by myself in the restaurant the same morning, for the "Terraza". There's no quality in a restaurant where they don't respect their clients and they make discrimination against them, screening if they are locals or not. Unfortunately, this is the worst picture I received from LEON, a beautiful and friendly city, with a few unprofessional people, like the "jefe" of Ezequiel. I am really sorry for the costumer NOT service of this place. Maybe worst in Europe...More

The receptionist from hotel La Posada Regia recommended this restaurant for lunch. I went for the Menu del Dia, for €22,- I got a gigantic salad, the table next to me had the same, but they had to share it . Mains was a lot of...thin sliced pork in a good sauce. All with a few glasses of white wine.Rice pudding and coffee to finish off. Fantastic food for a nice price.More

I’m on the Camino and the staff here is excellent. I had the best salad I have ever had called Ensalada Canon. It had mango, blueberries, olive oil and this delicious lettuce I can’t even describe. I highly recommend, however, make a reservation or come...around noon like I did. It gets packed. I’m really happy this was my last meal in Leon.More

My wife and I ate a late lunch here during a recent stay in Leon and really enjoyed our meals. It was crowded with lots of locals, which is always a good sign, and we waited about 10 minutes for a table. The total bill...for the two of us came to 34 euros. We would definitely return if we are ever in Leon again.More

Within a flick of Casa Botines, this restaurant is in the heart of it all, and in the hearts of all, judging by its local following...and easy to see why. Food selection is ample, with the portions beyond ample…so if the waiter suggests you may...be in risk of overloading, best take his/her advice. As it happened, there was some mix up in our order resulting in an extra main dish being served…it was so good to pass up on, I just went for it…delicious – yes…paid the price – that would be a yes too as I struggled to get mobile again. The service was excellent too.More

Made a reservation and sat outside. Place has lots of charm and food was plentiful and good. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Had the shredded pork and two salads(roasted pepper and the lamb lettuce and ricotta) and dessert and 3 of us couldn’t finish. Great...crusty bread and the jamon was on the house. Would definitely recommend A visit. Inside is a bustling bar and more chaotic atmosphere. Either works...More
