Dante was an occultist arrested by Tristan and Erin in January, and was personally involved with Leonardo Gomes, who was responsible for the ritual that united Luciano and Fernando.

GM[1]

It's irony of fate. It's really a Divine Comedy.

Dante[2]

Dante, whose original name is Gaspar,[3] is one of the protagonists of the series Paranormal Order, present in Deconjuration, Calamity and Signals from the Other Side.

He was an occultist who was arrested for his participation in a ritual involving Luciano Carvalho.[4] Later, due to his help during the investigation of Elizabeth Webber's disappearance case, he became a full agent of the Ordo Realitas.

After surviving the quest involving the Deconjuration and Kian, he returns in Calamity, joining the team responsible for the search for the Relics of Calamity, being one of the Markeds of the Ordo Realitas.

Appearance[]

Childhood[]

As a child, Dante had long blonde hair halfway down his back and light blue eyes.

Dante wore a white T-shirt with 3 stripes on the bottom, with brown pants and dark shoes, on his wrists he had 2 wooden bracelets.[5]

Deconjuration[]

Dante is a 27-year-old man with pale skin and light eyes. He wears square black glasses and has a Sigil of Knowledge tattooed on his forehead that resembles the infinity symbol. He has a huge scar on his chest from heart surgery performed in his childhood.[6] He has long blonde hair with strands of his bangs tied to the back of his head and a braid on either side of his face, both held in place by the details that make up his necklace. Dante wears a gray dress shirt with a clerical collar and string resembling a rosary, and a black jacket.[7] His rosary has a reliquary in which he keeps a lock of Jasmin Cristal's hair next to one of Beatrice Portinari.[8]

Both of Dante's hands are covered in different symbols. On the back of her right hand, are recognizable and present in our world: the spiral of the Golden Ratio, a Compass Rose and the mathematical formula for mass-energy equivalence.[9] On his palm, Dante has the Decadenza Ritual Symbol and, on his fingers, it is possible to see: on the indicator, a sequence of numbers; in the middle, a chain of DNA; on the ring, a representation of the solar system; and at least one Rutherford's atomic model. His left hand is covered in Sigils of Knowledge and has the Death Symbol, tattooed both on the back of his hand and on his ring finger, while on the palm of his hand he has the tattoo of the Cicatrization Ritual Symbol. On the arm region, Dante tattooed the Symbol of Temporal Destruction Ritual.

During the events of the 12th episode of Deconjuration, Dante makes a drastic change in his look: he cuts his hair with the scissors from his medical kit, leaving only a slightly longer lock; he stops wearing his glasses — as he had his myopia cured by the paranormal after his paranormal exposure reached a considerable level —; and leaves his old coat with Beatrice and is left with only his priest cleric unbuttoned and his shirt sleeves rolled up, revealing his forearms which are completely covered in symbols and Sigils of Knowledge.[10]

In the 15th episode of Deconjuration, Dante uses his Psychic Read Ritual on Beatrice in her form of Existed. Upon entering the agent's mind, Dante receives one of the most disturbing and macabre visions he has ever experienced, discovering the hell that the woman and all other Existeds Ones are going through.[11] This experience generates such a shock that he faints and, when he wakes up and opens his eyes, he realizes he can't see anything: the trauma was so great which took his vision and his eyes turned white.[12]

With the emotional upheaval for Dante, in the events of the 16th episode of Deconjuration, the occultist decides to take some time to rest and think and returns to St. Menefreda Orphanage with the help of Ivete. Walking around, he finds a piece of white cloth and ties it over his eyes to hide his newly acquired blindness.[13] Now, take it with you a copy of the book Divine Comedy, in which several of its rituals are marked in thick black ink.[14] To use his skills, Dante just needs to hold the necessary ingredients, place his hand on top of the desired ritual, concentrate on the symbol and thus activate it.

Calamity[]

A few months after the events of Deconjuration, Dante grows his hair out and uses a bun to keep part of his hair tied up. He also wears a black short-sleeved t-shirt, brownish pants with chains attached to his waist wrapped with a small storage bag and, on his bare feet, he has white bands that go up to his calf. He no longer has a blindfold, keeping his eyes constantly closed, accompanied on his head by a long white hood that goes down to his legs, secured by a brooch in the shape of his brand. It is also possible to notice that the tattoos he previously had are no longer visible.[15]

Upon opening his eyes, Dante presents changes in his form, resulting from his affinity with the element of Death: his tattoos reappear, his eyes become completely black and two stripes appear, one that runs across his right eye and the other horizontally across his lip, and his ears become slightly pointed — an overall appearance quite similar to that of a Lusidii.[16]

Signals from the Other Side[]

In his brief appearance, Dante still has his blonde hair, now with two locks at the front in the shape of an M, and his tattoos on his body. He also appears to have a thin beard and mustache, as well as wearing a very elegant blue suit over a white turtleneck shirt and a blue vest. He has a black brooch with yellow details attached to his blue suit that looks very similar to the rosary he wore in the past.[17]

Personality[]

Deconjuration[]

Dante was initially monotonous and almost always distant, avoiding showing strong emotions, both positive and negative. Still, he seemed polite, accommodating and helpful. Dante understands his situation, not demanding the trust of others even though he is always willing to help with whatever he can.

The only time Dante loses his composure and calm appearance is when his childhood friend Lilian is in danger, as he sees her as his younger sister and tries to protect her at any cost. This is exemplified when the two meet again at the 4th episode of Deconjuration: when he realizes that his sister doesn't remember his real name, he decides to pretend not to know her.

After being unable to stop or reverse his sister's transformation into the 11th episode of Deconjuration, Dante goes through an emotional avalanche,[18] which causes him to change drastically, adopting a more focused and assertive stance, avoiding questions about his sudden change and current state, as he deems them as not relevant to the progress of the investigation.

Calamity[]

1 year after the events of the Final Day of Deconjuration, Dante appears quite serious in Paranormal Order: Calamity, his speech generally being in a low and constant tone, similar to the way he spoke when he met the agents of the D-Force. Even so, Dante talks about the mission normally, not being as quiet as he was initially. He is also very concerned and helpful with his fellow agents. Dante, however, is also less tolerant of forgiveness,[19] losing control and raising your voice in some arguments more than usual.

Capabilities[]

  • Occultism: Dante knows several different magics and creatures due to the contact he has had with the occult since he was a child. He has experience with various rituals and is seen from the beginning to be able to transcend on his own.
  • Medicine: Being a doctor, Dante knows techniques for treating injuries and illnesses.

Biography[]

Past[]

Gaspar was born between 1992 and 1993[20] on an unknown date and grew up isolated from the other children at St. Menefreda Orphanage until 2006[21] due to his fragile health caused by his heart problems. During his childhood, he had to undergo a very expensive surgery due to aortic valve disease, and if it weren't for the help of Arnaldo Fritz, he wouldn't have gotten enough money to have this surgery.[6]

After a while, Dante started to hang out with the other children, but only made one friend, Lilian. The two together used to spend their afternoons reading "The Divine Comedy" on a hill near the orphanage while Beatrice braided his hair.[22] At a certain point, Arnaldo names Gaspar and Lilian as Beatrice and Dante, a name that the two have carried with them throughout their lives.

Sometime after his friend Beatrice was adopted on February 11, 2009,[23] during a supposedly calm night, The Host causes a fire at the orphanage, where several children ended up dying from the flames that spread through the place.[24] During this fire, Dante was awakened by Jasmin Cristal to run away from there. The two, while fleeing, found Leonardo Gomes under rubble. They did not hesitate to save him from the fire, taking the boy along with them.[25] After this, Dante moved away from most of the other children in the orphanage, except for Jasmin and Leonardo. The three begin to live in the streets and[26] then they start sharing a studio apartment in São Paulo. During the time they lived together, his partner Jasmin was stabbed to death,[27] which led Dante to become an occultist to try and bring her back somehow.

In January 2020, Dante, manipulated by Leonardo, engages in a sequence of occult rituals to, as proposed by Leonardo to Dante, save the life of a child, which ends up going very wrong in Dante's view.[28] What actually happened in these rituals is that Dante performed Kian's Deconjuration. Leonardo had made a plan that would involve manipulating both Dante and Luciano Carvalho. Dante was told that to save the child they would need to use several rituals and two volunteers to give part of their life to the boy. Luciano, when manipulated by Kian, kidnaps Denis Batista, a terminally ill child that Kian intended to use as a source of Fear, and her husband, Fernando Carvalho. Upon arrival, Dante then performs an order of rituals: First, the Knowledge Passage Ritual, which caused Fernando's mind to enter Luciano's body; then another that split Kian's mind and knowledge, sending the knowledge to the empty shell that remained of Fernando's body and his mind to Luciano; again the ritual of passing on knowledge, which caused Denis's mind to enter Leonardo Gomes' body, leaving the boy's body empty. Due to the fragile membrane of the place, this resulted in the formation of a blood creature — something planned by Kian to fake a failure in the ritual. He promptly killed Denis in Leonardo's body and fled the scene, leaving Dante to think that the supposed ritual to save the child had gone wrong. The rituals ended up resulting in the death of Denis, the joining of Fernando with Luciano and the supposed death of his friend.[4] Dante was found with his friend's body in his arms and taken into custody by two Ordo Realitas agents, therefore kept in a prison cell.[27]

Deconjuration[]

After spending months in his cell at the Ordo Realitas base,[7] Dante is reunited with Lilian, who grew up with him at the St. Menefreda Orphanage, whose name now is Beatrice. However, when he finds her, he pretends not to remember her. He is temporarily released to help Beatrice's team with the progression of their investigation. Soon after, he discovers that one of the volunteers for the ritual and one of the agents who had arrested him were part of the same team and refused to trust him because of his past. Even so, the decision is maintained.

The group finds the orphanage where Elizabeth was being held thanks to Dante's information. Upon finding her, Liz recognizes Dante by name as one of the occultists involved in the Leonardo Gomes case. Liz treats Dante harshly and intimidatingly, asking the others about how Verity had allowed a "worm" like him to leave his cell. Dante is succinct in his words to Liz and does not respond to her provocations, remaining passive. When escaping, the group faces several monsters, including the Degolified. This creature with the body of a girl talks to Dante through a ritual and identifies herself as Nina, a little girl who had grown up with Dante and Beatrice in the orphanage. She says that she was murdered the day of the fire and that she wanted one of her killers' bunny to let them go. The team delivers the rabbit to the creature, but after an intense chase. At the end of the battle, the creature reveals that Nubi, Henri and Gal had killed it on the day of the fire.[29] After this, only the rabbit remains and Dante realizes that a Death ritual was installed in him and decides to transcend.

At the door of the Orphanage, the group is blocked by Escribes, the occultists responsible for kidnapping Liz. Next to them, there was Leonardo Gomes chained up, wearing a hood and repeating the same word the whole time: Kian. [30] Dante is irritated by the situation of his former best friend and says he will save him. During the encounter, the agents are easily stopped by the antagonists, who are clearly much stronger than them. With everyone paralyzed, Gal murders Elizabeth with Joui's katana in front of everyone. The occultists lock everyone in the orphanage. The group is eventually freed by Erin and Fernando. Dante goes down with Joui to the orphanage courtyard and helps him analyze his katana, now full of spirals, identifying it as a Death ritual. The group recognizes their weakness before the Escribes and, with Dante's help, everyone transcends on the spot.

After Kaiser's recommendations, the group continues their investigation to the Devilish Mansion. There, they discover that this was the house where Leonardo Gomes was adopted for only a few months before returning to the Orphanage. The team then investigates the mansion and faces various entities. The first one was the Traveler, who altered Kaiser's photos, erasing their faces. After its first appearance, the creature killed Tristan and made Kaiser lose his memory of those in the photos. The battle against the Traveler, in addition to killing two police officers, turned Beatrice into an Existed after Orpheu was killed.[31] Seeing his considerate sister become an Existed caused drastic changes in Dante. His suffering was so great that he was able to create a paranormal object that provided him a Psychic Read Ritual. Furthermore, he cut off all his hair, keeping only a single strand in the front representing Beatrice, as a promise that he would bring her back.[10] After attacks from Blood Zombies, Beatrice's life is in danger, but the group manages to save her and decide to keep her in the van for safety.

The second creature was The Lurker, which was tormenting Kaiser, Arthur and Ivete, it was discovered that the cat, Jennifer, was marked by the entity, which had been watching the three of them ever since. The fight against the Lurker was intense, however, Dante stays behind and doesn't get hurt too much, in this battle, Dante helps Joui, who was extremely injured during the fight, preventing the young man from dying from a gunshot to the chest, after the confrontation, everyone returns to base and, as a last resort, Dante decides to try to read Beatrice's mind to see if it was still possible to save her, he performs the Psychic Read Ritual, but all he receives are agonized screams from several people, including Beatrice, they scream and ask to be observed and remembered. Dante feels severe pain in his head, causing him to scream and cry in pain, collapsing at the end of the ritual. Sometime later, he wakes up on the infirmary's stretcher with Joui by his side, however, Dante can't see anything.[12] Not believing in his sudden blindness, Dante argues with Joui who calms him down afterwards. Dante comes to the conclusion that it is impossible to save Beatrice and asks the group to take them to the orphanage to put an end to the girl's suffering. Once there, Dante asks Joui for help to aim at Beatrice's head and give her a mercy shot. Dante pulls the trigger and buries his sister next to the tree where they read the Divine Comedy together. Dante sits next to the tomb and spends 4 hours straight reciting the verses from the book until he eventually falls asleep. After a while, Dante decides to spend time at the orphanage to reflect and the group returns to the mansion without him.

After the group faces the Listeneds, Dante is left at the mansion with the team by Ivete. Next, the team battles the Drowned Woman. Dante is quite lost in the confrontation, not knowing how to deal with his recent blindness very well. After finishing at the mansion, they find out about a former resident still alive: Frederico Mare, and go to interrogate him. With Fred's report, they find out about Álvaro Augusto and his connection with Leonardo Gomes and Deconjuration.

Everyone heads to the cemetery at Joui's request, who had been acting strange all day. The Sect of the Masks appears and Joui reveals that he made a deal with the sect to protect the team and defeat Kian and the Escribes. Joui's departure enrages Dante, who claims that the man had promised to help him kill Gal and was now breaking his promise. Joui retorts by saying that as long as he was standing, his promise would be standing as well. Everyone then returns to base and the team meets to analyze the documents. Eventually, Arthur receives a call from the neighboring children of the Devilish Mansion, who say there is something wrong going on. Because they had become attached to the children and were worried, the group rushed to the location, finding Henri and Enpap-X. A brutal confrontation occurs, in which Kaiser and Erin are extremely injured. Everyone turns their attention to Erin and with that, Henri approaches and takes Kaiser hostage with the intention of killing him. At the time of the execution, Bruno appears and convinces Henri to let him kill his former friend. Bruno then surprises everyone by attacking Henri unnoticed and helping Kaiser to heal and get up. Dante is confused by what happened, only understanding after an explanation from Arthur. Bruno explains that the last day of the Deconjuration had arrived. They recover, but Henri gets up in surprise. A battle occurs and Henri, injured, uses a Blood Link Ritual to link the lives of Arthur, Kaiser and Luciano to him. Threatening to kill himself and take them all with him, the agents allow him to escape. The team gets together and goes to the Mansion, entering the sewer, where the children are. In the Corridors of this sewer, they face Sukkalgir, a creature originating from the body of the nun Thelma from the orphanage. Dante delivers the final blow to the specter, revealing that he had never liked the woman.

At the end of this battle, Dante and the other agents return to the St. Menefreda Orphanage, where they find Gal, Kian and Tim, as well as the bodies of Beatrice, Orpheu, Tristan and Elizabeth hanging from a tree. The D-Force team battles Gal, who proves to be quite agile and powerful. Dante witnesses the death of Erin, who explodes after being fatally attacked by the occultist, as well as the deaths of Alexia and Samantha, two of the agents who came for reinforcements along with Aaron and Verity. During the fight, Gal had drawn a transcending symbol on the ground, causing Luciano to transcend, causing him to become Kian, who had been hidden in his body all this time. Kian reveals his plan to end all paranormal by murdering everyone who has knowledge of it. He reveals to Dante that from the beginning he was Leonardo Gomes and that he had manipulated him into performing the Deconjuration. He even confesses that he killed Dante's pregnant wife just to make his plan work.[32] Dante despairs, realizing that he had been a pawn in Kian's hands. In the midst of so much blood, death and chaos, Dante is rescued by the Sect of the Masks thanks to the Cineraria Ritual performed by Kaiser. He survives along with Arthur, being both transported back to the Ordo Realitas Base, with the weight of the loss of Kaiser, Erin, Fernando and Luciano plaguing them. Mr. Verity, even if shaken, consoles them and motivates them to continue fighting to honor those who are gone, even if this is an arduous path and often seems impossible. Dante, even without faith, accepts the leader's comfort and asks for his help to carry out his revenge against Kian.

Timeskip[]

Dante, after hearing Arthur's stories about his old cases, became curious about Carpazinha's case and decided to go and investigate the place alone. He asked Mr. Verity for documents about the case and then he traveled to Carpazinha in search of what he knew as Holy Cradle. Arriving in the city, he asked several of the locals for clues about his investigation, but was unable to find anything that would help him. However, as he approached the forest, Dante felt something he had never felt before, a terrible chill. Something seemed to call him and Dante was completely terrified, unable to enter the forest.[33] He eventually returned to São Paulo and didn't tell Arthur or Ivete about his visit to their hometown. Arthur only found out about this in 9th episode of Calamity, after Dante told the group inside the ruins of Ordo Calamitas.

Calamity[]

Months after the events of Dsconjuration, Dante and Arthur are assigned by Mr. Verity to work with a new team to investigate the appearance of a "Devil" holding hands with a child in the interior of Mato Grosso. While they discuss the mission, Verity says that the current case has many similarities with one of Arnaldo Fritz's old missions and that this would be the Order's best clue to discover more information about Arnaldo Fritz's Grimoire and the whereabouts of the Relics of Calamity.

After a long journey, Dante and Arthur meet with Carina Leone, Rubens Naluti and Antônio Pontevedra, at the Gominho's house, where the supposed appearance of the creature had been recorded, heading towards Elza Verlaz's house. Investigating the place, the Vultures team discovers that Elza had met and become pregnant by a man from the circus, who had convinced her to use his son in an attempt to summon the Devil, until Arnaldo appeared and saved Eusébio, who had gone to the house in day of the ritual, thus preventing the invocation of the Devil. Furthermore, they discover that there was a supposed trapdoor in Elza's house and decide to investigate closely. When they are inside, the Gominhos and the police officer Felipe appear at the house looking for them. The team asks them to leave, because it could be dangerous, but before that, a knock on the door is heard along with someone calling "Mommy?". Cícero says that it was the Devil who was at the door and says that making a pact with him was the only way to win in life. He opens the door and Dante comes across the body of Denis Batista, the boy he tried to save in the ritual in which he was manipulated into making the Deconjuration Order[34] Dante is extremely shaken, but pulls himself together for the fight. During the confrontation, he is worried about the injuries of the others, since that creature only existed because of him. After the fight, they find a page of Arnaldo's Grimoire and then leave the city.

Returning to São Paulo, four days have passed and everyone is at the base of Ape Hangers. During this time, Dante and Agatha tried to acquire new information by analyzing the page. Dante meets with the rest of his team to report their mission to Mr. Verity, and after a long conversation, they discover that when adding the page to the grimoire, new pages appear. One of them hid a clue to the location of documents, a password to a safe in the Leone's Mansion, in Italy. With the preparations ready, the team, together with Clarissa, leaves for Rome, and during the trip, Dante talks to Arthur and asks him about how much he knew about Arnaldo, he briefly tells him about what he knew and Dante tells him that in order for them to face the challenges that lie ahead, they first needed to face the demons of the past.

Everyone arrives in Italy and goes straight to the Leone's Mansion, and comes across a massacre with bodies and blood all over the place and several documents with the same symbol drawn in blood, this scene shocks everyone, especially Carina. Dante approaches her and tries to help her by extending his hand. So, she pulls herself together and everyone heads towards the safe. When they finally arrive at the scene, everyone checks the security cameras and Dante manages to recognize some Escribes, those responsible for the massacre, including Kian and Gal, who had arrived at the scene hours before. Upon entering the safe room, the agents find Marco Leone's zombie being held by The Devil. The agents try to fight the entity, which does not even react to the multiple attacks received. Dante, realizing that they would have no chance against the creature, begins a dialogue, asking their intentions. The Devil says he was there to seal another pact with them, mentioning an approaching war. He points to Marco's body, who pulls a small box from his chest and hands it to the agents. The entity says that the key to sealing the second pact was in that same home, and that the next time they met would be the time to seal the third and final pact. Thus, he enters the blood rift and disappears.

After what happened, the team gathers to leave when they are surprised by a horde of Blood Zombies. Realizing that there was no way out, everyone quickly began to prepare to face the countless aberrations that were arriving. A fight begins, and Dante casts some rituals, destroying most of the creatures. After the fight, they head towards Patrizia Leone's office, however, a huge quadrupedal creature appears on the way and attacks them by surprise. Dante delivers the last blow to her and then begins treating Carina's injuries. After recovering, they reach the ward, where they face a huge creature that seriously injures Balu, who is quickly treated by Dante. The creature is defeated and they find a small red key that opens the box given by the Devil. Inside were five sealed envelopes with an invitation to Kian's final game inside. Dante begins to question why the Devil delivered an invitation from Kian, while walking in circles around the room. Continuing the investigation, Dante, Arthur and Clarissa arrive at Patrizia's office and find another of the pages of the grimoire. They call Mr. Verity to report the situation, and after that, Verity mobilizes the Order to meet with them.

When Dante and the others reunite with the rest of the team, they notice that Carina is sitting near the creature, an air of sadness fills everyone as they realize that the creature they had just defeated was Carina's mother. She asks the group to help her say a simple farewell to her family, and Dante is ready to help her. The team goes to the garden and arrives in front of a large tree, there the team begins to try to comfort Carina, Dante tells her that even a group with so much pain and loss can become a family, encouraging her to seek support from them when to need.

After finishing the ceremony, Dante walks towards the fountain and meets Balu, having a brief dialogue about his motivations for leaving the Order and returning years later. After listening to Balu's explanation, the occultist thanks him and carries out a quick investigation in the mansion until he is interrupted by Carina, asking him about the Transcend process and the two have a brief conversation about it. Dante offers to help her transcend if she wanted, the two finish talking and go in to investigate together. With all preparations made, the agents gather to rest and wait for the Order's arrival.

The next day, the team is awakened by Agatha. Carina decides to transcend for the first time and they decide to prepare the ritual in the fridge. Carina approaches the center of the Symbol, and Dante offers to help her and assures her that he will remain there until the whole process ends. After Carina has finished transcending, Dante welcomes her and eventually the entire team joins for the meeting with Verity. Upon arriving in the room where was the former office of Marco, the agents find Verity accompanied by Agatha and Marc Menet and everyone debates about the grimoire and the next step of the mission. They discover Arnaldo’s notes that point to the Flavian Amphitheatrum. Verity advises them to prepare and create an infiltration plan. They prepare and set out for the new mission.

Upon arriving at the Colosseum, even with the end of the exhibition, agents can access the gallery of paintings representing former governors wearing masks with a distorted smile. The group realizes that one of the paintings had the same symbol that was on the cover of the grimoire. When one of the local janitors enters the next room, Dante can sense the presence of a paranormal object. With that in mind, the team decides to split up. Dante, Arthur and Rubens stay to enter the room while Carina and Balu go to the Director’s room to convince him that they were just working journalists. The three enter the room and find two other people, and while Arthur tries to distract the staff, they all hear gunfire noises followed by some of Balu’s screams. At this time, two of the exhibition employees reveal themselves as members of The Host's Production and they advance towards them. The three agents are able to neutralize them quickly and then they start moving quickly towards the noises. When the three reunite with the rest of the team, they see Carina with one of the event’s security guards who seemed to be in despair after the battle. Dante perceiving the woman’s fallacy, immediately attacks her with Decadenza and soon after she is killed by Rubens. In the director’s room, they find documents reporting that the Colosseum had been built on ancient ruins known as the Ordo Calamitas, and its entrance was sealed by a door that never opened, known as the Semper Clausa. The agents also find a mask very similar to one of the masks depicted in the governors' painting. Remembering the paranormal object he had felt before, Dante deduces that it could be one of the masks and calls the team to investigate.

After arriving in the room, they find one more of the masks and deliver them to Balu. As a way to break the tension of the situation, Balu approaches the mask to his face pretending to put it on. Dante sees this interrupts him and, with a tone of severity, scolds him saying that it was not the time for jokes. After this, Balu finds a book in the library about the various governors of the Colosseum. Before they could finish examining the entire contents of the book everyone hears a cry and head to it. Upon arriving, the group meets Joui Jouki. Dante approaches Joui and comforts him, somewhat confused by all that, but clearly happy to see his friend again. He tells Joui everything that happened after his departure and tells him that they need to finish the mission they were given. Joui is clearly nervous and anxious because of the shock of information, but nevertheless joins the team in the mission. Eventually, the team finds all the masks and heads to the statues' room.

Facing the statues and with all the information in hand, the agents realize that the masks would be used by the followers of the Host to open the passage to the Semper Clausa, and that probably the masks should be put according to the order of the years of government of each one. They have difficulty at first placing the governors' masks on their statues, resulting in Energy damage at every wrong positioning. Dante did not want any of them to get hurt, so he offered to put on all the masks, but his companions did not allow it. Thus, Dante offered to touch whoever was putting the mask to distribute the shock and this was done by everyone. By fitting the last mask correctly an underground passage opened.

When they went down the stairs to the basement of the Colosseum, they came across a large hall with a very old ruinous aspect, on the floor was drawn the same symbol of Arnaldo’s grimoire cover and further ahead there were three large stone doors also with the symbol of the library designed. Suddenly, the Sect of the Masks appears and Joui argues with them. They just say that their agreement was broken and that the memories in those ruins were unpredictable, after that, they disappear again. After this meeting, the agents meet Verity and several other agents of the Order. They report everything they have discovered and witnessed to him, who begins to organize the other agents for an investigation into the ruins. The team prepares and enters the middle door. As soon as they cross it, it quickly closes and nothing is heard from the other side. All with enough caution, advance until they arrive in another great hall. This is a very dark room and on the floor is also drawn the symbol of the grimoire. Dante can see two large doors ahead with the Host symbol at the end of the corridor.

Then, Rubens begins to explain a bit of what he knows to the team and even shows his chest scar that was caused by the Host’s last game. After hearing Rubens, the team enters the great hall, where there were statues of people with their names and titles written below. After Joui touches one of them and passes out, everyone decides to do the same to try to help him in the possible psychological environment that he may be. Dante then chooses the statue of Remus, the Captivating and as soon as he touches it, he faints in the same way as the others.

They wake up at A.D. 67 in Ordo Calamitas and within the bodies of their respective persons of the statues, however, only after a while do their consciences realize who they are. Dante, even after the shock of being in someone else’s body, tries to stay in character to get information from the other Ordo Calamitas warriors. However, a Death attack begins and everyone rushes to the room where the newly conquered Relic of Energy was. The six members of the Vultures gather around it due to a paranormal call. The Relic chooses Gaius, the man in whom Carina was amalgamated, and then he becomes Amphitruo. After a confusing and awkward conversation, the group is returned to their normal bodies in the present time. As soon as they wake up, Dante becomes worried about Carina, but he calms down after realizing she was okay. A door opens and they realize it looked like a kind of energy barrier with a space for two Marks. In this, Balu and Rubens volunteer to enter, and the two fall unconscious again.

The rest of the vultures wait for Balu and Rubens to wake up after the game. When this happens, the two explain what had happened within the Host’s game. After that, the group decides to go to the library, where they realize that all the pages of the books turned into the same page on the Relic of Blood. The team then deduces that with each game a page about a Relic would be revealed. The library also had an energy barrier, this time with room for five Marks. All but Carina then enter the second game.

In this game, the Vultures return to the bodies of their respective statues. Dante barely manages to control Remus' actions during the game. However, at the end of it, Dante manages to take control and makes Remus sacrifice himself along with Emperor Nero to save the others. Everyone wakes up after the game, with the exception of Dante, who is passed out and has a weak heartbeat. The team, after trying to wake him up unsuccessfully, decides to let Carina take care of him while they finish the Host’s games. Then, with Balu carrying Dante carefully in his arms, they head to the next room, which had a barrier with room for four Marks. Balu leaves Dante resting on Carina’s lap and thus they enter another game.

Dante remains fainted until the last game where only Joui returns. After that, creatures begin to emerge from the statues of the Ordo warriors who were sacrificed, and as soon as this happens, Dante and the others wake up for combat. They face the Unforgotten Wraiths of Faustus, Amalia, Remus and Marius. As the battle ends, a door opens and a room with a big Transcend symbol reveals itself on the floor. Dante feels called and resolves to transcend while the group waits. He begins to transcend and another door opens revealing a passage. The group discusses whether they should leave Dante alone, but Arthur comes to the verdict that Dante would be fine alone and that they should follow. Once below, there was a corridor with a large door that opens slowly, revealing the Host sitting on a throne next to the Devil.

In Dante's transcendence, he amalgamates with Arnaldo Fritz who in 2009 went to those ruins and met The Magistrate.[35] She showed to Arnaldo a vision of Celestine, Amphitruo and Kian on that same place in A.D. 67. Upon returning from the vision and understanding the situation, Arnaldo asks the Magistrate what should be done to stop Kian. She replies that he needed a relic to make Kian play by the rules. After that, Arnaldo discovers that he has a relic and ends up wielding it, becoming the Host.

The team enters the hall without the company of Dante, who only comes to appear when the Host shows the scene of Kian betraying Gal and being tortured by Clarissa soon after. The Host left it up to them to decide whether or not to save Gal from Clarissa. The vultures begin to argue, with Carina and Joui defending not saving him and Dante and Arthur defending saving him. Dante argues seriously with Joui, stating that both he and Gal were manipulated by Kian from the beginning. Dante tries to push the button, but is stopped by Joui. However, Arthur manages to do so, saving Gal from torture.

After that, the Host, the Devil and the Markeds begin to talk. The two wielders tried to convince the team to join them to defeat Knowledge, stating that if the Masks and Kian were destroyed, Knowledge would no longer have ties to Reality and no more people like Kian would arise. The conversation about the destruction of Knowledge continues and the Sect of the Masks appears and also participates in the debate. After analyzing everything that has happened so far, the Vultures team decides to align themselves with the Masks because they defend only the removal of the Relic of Energy from its current wielder, and not the complete destruction of it. Dante, in his choice, takes into account all that the Host had done bad to him and the children at the Orphanage, since it claimed to be responsible for the fire in 2009. The team’s choice is made and a battle against the Host begins.

In the main hall of Ordo Calamitas, Team Vultures, with the help of members of the Sect of the Masks, face the five representations of the hosts who ruled the Colosseum. The battle is intense and all agents are badly injured, especially Arthur, and all members of the Sect are killed. When they defeat the variations, an energy sphere appears in the center of the hall, however, the Magistrate appears and says that this was not the relic yet. In this, the group discovers that the Magistrate had held the Host during the first part of the fight and now the real battle would begin. With the Magistrate protecting them, the Vultures face off against the Host of Arnaldo Fritz, having an extremely turbulent and dangerous battle. Balu suffers severe damage and falls bleeding. Dante manages to save him first, but the Host reveals that it intended to kill him. Even after the team’s desperate attempts, Balu is struck by an explosion and falls dying again. Joui then manages to finish the Host, thus acquiring the team’s first relic. After this, the battle ends and everyone turns their attention to Balu on the ground. Dante tries to do something, but fails. Rubens then resurrects the man with heart massage and manages to save him.

After the intense battle, the relic is contained in Joui’s katana. The Magistrate then creates a special sheath for Joui to contain. Balu regains consciousness and Dante and Rubens take care of his injuries. The Magistrate talks to the team and says they had fulfilled their role and would be rewarded for it. Then the woman begins to walk towards a room of the ruins. However, Joui, anxious and unbalanced, decides to return the mask to the Magistrate in exchange for his memories. This is done and the wave of memories makes Joui faint. Dante and the group go to him and carry him along as they head to the room the Magistrate was in. Joui wakes up and the group talks about past events and clarify some points for Balu, Carina and Rubens, especially. Upon finally arriving in the room, the Vultures come across five mirrors, with four of them ornamented with the theme of one element and the last of them just floating. Dante puts his hand inside the mirror of Death and feels something inside. Balu, inconsequential, sticks his head in the mirror of Blood to see what was there. However, he ends up getting full of hatred after looking inside and the group had to calm him down before he went crazy for good. Dante then punches Balu and manages to calm him down. Balu apologizes and steps away from the mirrors for the others to look. Thus, the other five vultures remove objects from inside the mirrors. Arthur removes a pulsating human heart from the mirror of Blood, Dante removes a skull full of ooze from the mirror of Death, Carina removes a scroll from the mirror of Knowledge, Rubens removes Arnaldo Fritz's watch from the mirror of Energy and finally, Joui removes the last page of the Grimoire from inside the floating mirror. After that, the vultures decide to rest.

Dante decides to go in front of everyone to try to find other agents. Upon returning the way they came and touching the stone door, she begins to open and Dante sees Verity along with Aaron, Jiro, Olivia and Naomi. Dante begins to relate what had happened down there and Verity is stunned by the news that the Host was Arnaldo Fritz and that Clarissa would be a possible traitor. Verity then decides to go immediately to meet the rest of the team, in order to better understand all that sudden information, Dante and the other agents accompany him. Verity enters the ruins and reaches the room where the team was, he first meets Joui and together with Dante, they talk about everything they went through inside Semper Clausa.

When Joui mentions about choosing to save Gal and that Arthur and Dante agreed to save him, Verity approaches Dante and tells him that they chose right. He says that Gal would never fight alongside the Order, but that one more soldier in the battle against Kian is what they need to do to win. Arthur, Rubens, and Carina join the discussion and they begin to debate about Clarissa’s possible betrayal. Verity seems to be very shaken and says that they need to go towards where she and the Metallic Dragons went. Before they follow the path, Verity asks everyone how long they spent inside, they reply that it seemed to have been at least three hours since they entered. He is surprised and says that only half an hour has passed outside, causing him to relate the place to the effects of the Death element, as well as an old case that Joui and Arthur participated in. Dante asks Joui about the case and he replies that he was referring to the Holy Cradle case.

After hearing about Holy Cradle, Dante begins to get very agitated and with heavy breathing. Joui asks him what was happening and Dante begins to question him repeatedly about what they faced in that place. Joui explains that they faced a monster that resembled the black silhouette that chased them in A.D. 67. In addition, he talks about how the citizens of Holy Cradle resembled Dante when he opened his eyes. Completely shocked and nervous, Dante says he has been to Holy Cradle before. He then tells the group that he went to Carpazinha to investigate the city after Arthur’s reports and was frightened by the presence that was in the forest.

At the end of this account, Dante says that they would not be able to face what was inside. Verity raises his voice and encourages him, saying that the fact that they defeated an entity was already the necessary proof of their strength and ability. After all the discussion, the team decides to meet Verity upstairs to go after Clarissa. Before that, Joui and Arthur realize that Dante is still a little behind and decide to go comfort him. Dante, a little calmer, says that he had gone through the tombs of the Scoundrel Vultures and found them completely open. This information is a shock to Arthur and Joui. After these revelations, Dante asks Joui and Arthur if the sacrifices they made were really worth it. The two respond that any life saved by their sacrifices made everything worthwhile.

Dante thanks them and the three talk to Carina about the information they discovered. As they talk, Carina apologizes to Dante and Arthur and says she had received a message from someone the first time she transcended and that the message was exactly what she needed to hear and that it helped her. Dante identifies himself and tells that he also had a similar experience. When he acquired the appearance similar to a Lusidius, he felt connected to a man who told him that he should ally with time, stop fighting the past and start protecting his future and that of everyone around him. With an atmosphere of relaxation, everyone leaves the ruins to meet with Verity and the other agents. Reunited, they follow in the direction that Clarissa’s group had gone, in order to find her and the Metallic Dragons. The group arrives at a large chapel with a red and macabre appearance with a large throne on the altar. Upon entering the site, everyone comes across the bodies of the Metallic Dragons completely shattered. Verity searches for Clarissa, but only finds Tristan’s jacket, which she was wearing, lying on the floor. Everyone begins to realize that Verity’s semblance seems to finally crumble and Balu approaches to comfort him. Verity hugs him and questions what he had done wrong so that it ended this way. Balu’s words seem to comfort him and Verity tells him that this would be his last battle.

Dante approaches the place where he saw Gal being tortured and observes a trail of blood leading to one of the windows of the chapel, which seemed to have had a blood slit open inside it. The team thinks that Clarissa may have been taken by the Devil. Verity interrupts him saying that this was no longer Clarissa and that she had become one of the monsters the Order faces. With a serious look, he tells everyone that it would be inadmissible for them to take the path of hatred like Clarissa. The leader leaves and the whole team begins to follow him. On the return, Dante realizes that Arthur, who was along with Joui, seems a little down and approaches to comfort him. Dante puts one of his arms around him and tells him that he didn’t have to hold on to them. With the three by his side, Dante says that he often feels that at some point he can stop being who he is, the only thing that separates him from this is a wrong decision, and then he asks what Arthur and Joui think about it. Joui says that as long as they have each other, they would not make wrong decisions and Arthur reinforces Joui’s words.

Back on the surface, Dante and Arthur’s phone starts vibrating and they notice several missed calls and messages from Agatha. Dante reads the messages and discovers that Agatha had entered the Colosseum after noticing Escribes invading. She does this by telling Dante to trust her and her strength. Dante, worried, warns everyone that Agatha was in danger. At the same moment, Ivete calls Arthur and says that the Leone Mansion was being attacked by the Escribes. Verity then decides to separate the Vultures team into two teams to take care of both problems simultaneously. He asks Dante to stay in the Colosseum, as Agatha trusts him more than anyone. The two teams split up with Arthur, Rubens, and Balu going to the Mansion, while Joui, Carina, and Dante stay at the Colosseum with Verity to search for Agatha.

Verity speaks to the Order, saying that they would take the first step and defeat Kian at once. He turns to Dante and says that although he had long considered himself a pawn in a much larger game, it was thanks to his efforts that the board of that game could be flipped, giving them a chance to win. Verity then charges the Vulture trio to rescue Agatha and retrieve the Grimoire. He asks especially for Dante to protect her, clearly worried and Dante says he would not let bad swimming happen to her. With Verity’s order, all agents disperse through the Colosseum and a war breaks out.

Dante uses one of his rituals to enhance his senses and hear Agatha’s grunting voice, he quickly alerts the other two companions and the three follow towards the voice. When they finally arrive, they see Kian holding her by the neck with three other people behind him. Kian briefly speaks and presents his markeds and then attempts to attack Agatha, but Aaron’s shot from the Colosseum stands deflects the blow and Agatha is grazed. The Grimoire falls to the ground and Kian catches it, puzzled. He then prepares to attack them, however, the Magistrate quickly appears and says he will hold him as long as he can.

A battle between the markeds begins and quickly Dante immobilizes Kian's markeds with the Ooze Tentacles Ritual. Joui takes advantage and carries Agatha unconscious to Dante. Afraid to harm her with his temporal acceleration cure, Dante casts his Shuffle Ritual, creating two clones and focusing in the battle. Joui tells Dante that that battle was not necessary, and approaches the Escribes to try to convince them to unite to defeat Kian. The team says they want to destroy the Devil, just like the Lukic brothers and claim Kian’s betrayal of Gal. The three Escribes believe the agents and the battle ends with a truce. Thus, the marked begin to prepare to face Kian. In the meantime, Dante places Agatha hidden in a safe place. He notices the state of the girl and hugs her strongly, saying that he was there for her, the girl unconsciously hugs him harder. After that, Kian gets rid of the Magistrate, with her body on his feet.

Realizing the Markeds' alliance against him, Kian becomes enraged and prepares to attack them, but is interrupted by Verity, who jumps from the second floor of the Colosseum and approaches him. Verity asks Kian to kill him and he proves unable to do so. Verity yells for everyone to attack him while Kian was off guard. With this order, everyone attacks him together, Carina manages to retrieve the Grimoire after Joui hits him. Dante also hands her the last page of the library and then she puts it in the book. She screams in agony and her eyes turn white for a moment and so does Kian. After that, Kian finds himself unable to perform rituals again.

Enraged, Kian steps on top of the agents, beating them with sheer physical force. An intense battle begins with everyone giving their all to kill him, however, Kian still proves extremely strong and murdering Boris Lukic, in addition to seriously injuring Damir Lukic and leaving Verity unconscious on the ground. As the fight unfolds, Kian becomes increasingly wounded and weakened by the Vultures' combined attacks. Even with the severe damage this was not enough to stop him from grabbing Joui and starting to beat him. Dante tries to stop but fails. He watches as his friend is killed by Kian, who releases Joui’s body to the ground completely lifeless.

Dante tries to stay firm and concentrates all his feelings to defeat Kian. Arthur arrives carrying a small box and witnesses the whole scene with Balu and Rubens. He hands the box to Rubens and the three quickly join the battle. In the midst of the confrontation, Dante recovers the Despair Mask from The Magistrate's dead body. He guards the relic and returns to the fight against Kian, who even being seriously injured, was still a real monster, killing brutally Theodore Bagwell in front of all. Verity wakes up and says that the key to defeating Kian was inside the box they brought. Dante quickly reaches the box and opens it, finding a small black ring with a white stone, adorned with golden chains and sigils from the Other Side. After feeling the nature of the object, he approaches Rubens and tells him that they needed to put the ring on the Kian, Rubens tries a few times but fails. When Balu tries to help him, Rubens ends up being grabbed by him and thrown to the ground, with Kian hanging him. At this moment with the order of Verity, Arthur and Balu attack him together and render him unconscious. Thus, Dante placed the ring on Kian, who was trapped by chains that developed around him due to the effect of that object. With this, the battle ends and the agents manage to contain Kian.

The war in the Colosseum seems to finally end and the Order emerges victorious from this battle, but not without sacrifices. Everyone there finally seems to have time to process all their losses and as they do, Dante approaches Agatha and takes her in his arms to bring her closer. While carrying her, the girl wakes up still very weak and frightened. She asks what had happened and Dante replies that they had managed to stop Kian. Upon hearing this, Agatha hugs him strongly and he hugs her back happily for her to be alive. Arthur approaches the two to see how she was. Agatha notices Joui’s dead body on the floor and begins to blame herself for what happened and Arthur tells her it wasn’t her fault. Because of her wound, the young woman ends up fainting again and the two support her against a pillar to rest her.

Verity tells everyone that they would arrest Kian until they found a way to kill him for good. He leaves with Kian and warns the team that all agents would return to Brazil as soon as possible. Dante decides to arrange the dead bodies to destroy them in order to prevent the Other Side from corrupting them. Before doing so, he uses his ritual on Arthur and shows him all the moments when Joui hit Kian and how his companion fought like a warrior to the end. Arthur thanks Dante and the two hug. Next, Dante conjures a ritual to disintegrate all the dead bodies. The only thing left of Joui is the contained Relic of Energy on his sword. Dante guards it, and then, leaves the Colosseum.

With everyone back in the mansion and completely exhausted, Dante, Rubens and Carina go to the medical ward and find Ivete clearly worried about Arthur. The three reassure her and tell her where to find him. She quickly leaves, but first kisses Dante’s forehead and says she was happy to see him well. Dante approaches Renan and asks about Agatha, he replies that she had left for Brazil along with Verity and other agents. Dante thanks him and says he would be returning to the base as soon as possible to find a way to treat the girl’s wound. Renan warns him of his condition and says he should rest too. Dante thanks him for the trouble, but says he had no time to waste. Dante goes to the mansion’s weapons room looking for Arthur, but finds Balu and assists him in fixing his axe broken by Kian. He uses a Focused Energy Shot Ritual, welding the axe again. When he finishes, Dante returns the weapon to Balu and thanks him for continuing to fight alongside them.

Eventually, Dante and Arthur meet and decide to return together to Brazil as soon as possible and thus, the two leave to get ready and agree to meet in front of the mansion in a few minutes. While waiting for Arthur, Dante sees Damir sitting outside the mansion and approaches to talk to him. Dante tells Damir that he has been in a similar position in the past and that he should fight for the future and take his second chance. Soon after this, Arthur arrives and advises Damir on what he should do now. After that, he begins to prepare to stop leaving, but before Dante passes one last time in the garden of the mansion and collects a Jasmine flower to take with him during the trip.

Back at the base of the Order in Brazil, Dante goes to Agatha to see how she was, worried about her condition. He and Arthur also take Damir to Verity and explain his situation. Verity accepts that he will help them in future battles, but says that he would be imprisoned until the Order needed him and asks the two to arrest him in the prison of the Order. The two leave Damir in the same cell where Dante was in the past and say goodbye to him. At that time, Dante and Arthur assisted in building Kian’s special cell for about three days. In addition, Dante researched and studied more about Agatha's condition, the Grimoire and some of the cursed objects they found. During these three days, Agatha fled the medical ward several times to try to study with Dante in the occultism room. Every time, he warned her and sent her back.

Kian’s special cell was eventually ready and Verity called Dante and Arthur to go with him there. Kian’s containment vest expanded into the environment and numerous golden chains trapped him in the walls. Verity says that from what they know so far, Kian had become an entity of knowledge. Thus, only the Relic of Blood could really kill him. But in order for them to defeat the Devil, they would first need the Relic of Death. Dante says that it would probably be in the same place of the mission of Holy Cradle and Verity directs them to the next mission. Finally, Verity says that before, they needed to rest and say goodbye to all who were gone.

All Team Vultures, along with Verity and some other agents, meet at the same cemetery they had buried Elizabeth Webber, but now there were graves for every one of the Order’s agents who died in the last year. Verity steps forward and speaks to everyone, saying that he saw in those who are gone and in those who are still alive the real meaning of the Order, that of protecting the people they love. Several people speak soon after, such as Ivete, Agatha and Samuel. Hugo, Cassiano, Eduarda and Tim also show up to say goodbye. With all the remaining companions reunited, Arthur and Dante say goodbye to each of their friends who are gone.

Relationships[]

  • Agatha Volkomenn: Dante and Agatha began to work together after the events of Deconjuration. Dante has been concerned about the young woman’s well-being, and Agatha tries to impress the occultist through her knowledge of the occult and seems to admire him as a mentor. During the events of the war at the colosseum it's possible to notice how much Dante cares about Agatha and her safety, showing himself completely distressed for not having protected her as soon as possible. The young woman also seems to call for him when she was having nightmares, shortly after being injured by Kian’s Blade of Fear, showing how Dante was a supporting figure to her.[76] The particular concern of the occultist for the girl is always very evident, since even though he was exhausted after the battle against Kian, he still thought about her well-being and how to help her. After returning to Brazil, Dante spends a lot of time observing the state of the girl, seeking a way to treat her.
  • Antônio Pontevedra: Dante treats Balu very well the moment they meet. Even realizing that he was not very comfortable with the use of rituals, Dante always tries to help him with his healing skills as best he can, which shows that he cares about his safety. During the events that occurred in the Leone's Mansion, Dante ends up creating a distrust in Balu because of the little information he had about him. However, after the events where Dante discovers who was the true traitor in the Order, Dante erases all his distrust with Antônio, and with this, he begins to completely trust him as his ally.
  • Arthur Cervero: Dante and Arthur were polite to each other when they met. Because they were the only survivors of the team after the Final Day of the Deconjuration, Dante and Arthur get close enough, being constantly together and caring a lot about each other’s safety and well-being. In addition, Dante worries about Arthur’s life, as they formed a strong bond of friendship, taking care of him as much as they can and supporting him in difficult times.
  • Beatrice Portinari: Dante and Beatrice were very close friends during childhood. When they finally reunited, however, he pretended not to recognize her and proceeded to try to find out what happened to her memories. However, it was apparent that her opinion was important to him more than the rest of the group, and protecting her has always been his priority. Dante was the one who buried Beatrice and, since then, is very shaken by the loss of his childhood best friend, whom he considered as a younger sister.
  • Carina Leone: Although he knows her for a short time, Dante constantly demonstrates his concern for Carina. During the events of the Leone's Mansion, Dante several times tries to comfort her in the face of the tragic situation of the girl. Amid the symbolic tribute to the Famiglia Leone, Dante supports Carina saying that everyone around her would help the young woman deal with her pain, showing how he sympathizes with her situation. After all these events, Carina ends up acquiring a lot of confidence in Dante, with both protecting themselves as team partners. Dante always treats Carina with kindness, offering to help her several times when he needs to.
  • Clarissa Leão: Although not very close, Clarissa was one of the only survivors of the Final Day of the Deconjuration along with Dante, and so the two ended up sharing a common desire to avenge their friends. Dante trusts Clarissa and cares about her safety. It is possible to realize that he always tries to help her when he can, whether in the middle of a fight or out of it. Due to common motivation, Dante wishes that she also achieves her goal. After finding out about the woman’s betrayal against the Order, Dante laments the situation and states that they needed to find her.
  • Elizabeth Webber: Liz was hostile towards Dante, but upon seeing how she protected Beatrice, she opened up to him about her past, showing that she had put her trust in him. Dante always acted with respect towards Liz, attending her funeral.
  • Erin Parker: Erin did not trust Dante, and the man understood the reason. However, in the final episodes of Deconjuration, the relationship between them was more softened; even if they disagreed from time to time, the two were teammates and cared for each other.
  • Fernando Carvalho: Dante was present in the ritual of Luciano and Fernando, so Fernando was suspicious of all his attitudes. However, Dante had no negative feelings toward him, wanting to help him with his injuries. In the final episodes of the third season, it was shown that the two had built a fellowship by being on the same team.
  • Gal: Dante and Gal were colleagues at the St. Menefreda Orphanage during childhood. After the events of the 6th episode of Deconjuration, Dante is angered by Gal, especially for finding him guilty of his fellow orphans entering the occultism. Even with all the feeling of hatred, Dante still sees Gal as a lost child, just as he was abandoned and manipulated by Kian, so that during the debate proposed by The Host about saving or not Gal from death, Dante was merciful and chose to try to save him, even though some of his companions disapproved of the decision.
  • Jasmin Cristal: Dante, Jasmin and Leonardo began together in the occultism and even shared the same house for a while. Jasmin allegedly was stabbed to death in an unknown context, only to be revealed that Leo and Dante were at the scene and that the young woman died in Dante’s arms. Dante is very sorry for the loss of Jasmin, having as main goal to try to bring the girl back. After the events of the 12th episode of Deconjuration, Dante receives confirmation that it is impossible to bring Jasmin back, which causes him to cut her hair, leaving only a lock to symbolize that Beatrice would be all that was left for him and that he had lost Jasmin forever.[10] During the 20th episode of Deconjuration, it is revealed that their relationship was loving,[32] and that Jasmin was killed by Kian while pregnant to motivate Dante to become an occultist in hopes of bringing her back.[77]
  • Joui Jouki: Joui was very hostile towards Dante from the beginning, but he never showed anger or complained about it. After all the events at the Orphanage, Dante decides he wants to defeat Gal and stop the Escribes. Realizing Dante’s motivations and acknowledging his error of judgment, Joui accepts him as an investigation partner, thus starting a partnership with the same goal. In the course of the Deconjuration events, with Joui being more likely to help Dante, mainly because of Gaspar’s sudden blindness, the two maintain a neutral relationship between teammates. However, after Joui’s return after a year of events involving Kian and the Deconjuration, it is evident that now Dante and Joui have a stronger bond of friendship, helping each other and cherishing each other’s safety. Similarly, Joui’s death in the battle against Kian shakes Dante strongly, showing that he considered him a good person. Dante carries Joui’s memory in his mind and heart and says that the friend would continue living through him.
  • Kaiser: Kaiser was never angered by Dante’s presence, stating his usefulness to the investigation, and relied on his abilities and instincts. At first, Kaiser came to distrust Dante and accuse him of being responsible for tormenting him with the faceless photographs, but that was soon put aside. After the events in the Devilish Mansion, even after some disagreements, the two became closer, especially after Kaiser used a ritual to make him see again and then give him a photo he had taken of Beatrice.[78] Dante proved to trust Kaiser and both showed to care for each other, to the point that Dante was extremely shaken at the end of the 20th episode of Deconjuration knowing that Kaiser stayed behind.
  • Leonardo Gomes: Dante said he was very friendly with Leonardo, coming to save the life of the "friend" on the day of the fire at the St. Menefreda Orphanage. Both, with Jasmin, started together in the occultism after the fire. When asked about Leonardo’s real intentions, Dante always protected him saying he was a good person, reinforcing that his friend wanted to save Denis Batista in the ritual in which the occultist supposedly died. Dante, seeing Leonardo as Kian, is extremely enraged at Gal and the Escribes, showing that he really cared for him.
  • Luciano Carvalho: Luciano had extreme resentment and hatred for Dante, but the occultist showed no bad intentions against him, keeping quiet and letting the former military threaten him without retaliating. Because of this, the relationship between the two was very complicated at first, easing with time. Even if the two argued sometimes, Luciano showed no more hatred, treating the occultist as a teammate; that is, until the Final Day.
  • Rubens Naluti: Even though he has not interacted much with Rubens, Dante treats him well, pledging to help him as a teammate, and also trusts in his abilities to help his teammates, as seen in the 8th episode of Calamity, in which Balu was dying on the floor, and Dante starts screaming for Rubens to go help him save the man’s life.[79]
  • Mr. Verity: Initially, Verity treated Dante as just another occultist arrested at the base of the Order. However, at the request of the D-Force to release him from his cell, Verity trusted his agents and allowed such a situation.[80] After Dante helped the team investigate and fight the paranormal, Mr. Verity officially recruited the occultist for Ordo Realitas.[81] After the disastrous battle against Gal and Kian, Dante breaks down and questions whether they should continue to fight the Escribes.[74] Mr. Verity says he saw in Dante’s heart a resemblance to that of Arnaldo and claims to need someone like him by his side again. He consoles Dante and convinces the agent that they should fight together for those who have gone and avenge everyone they loved. After the events of Deconjuration, Dante becomes an increasingly important agent for the Order, and now, having great confidence on the part of Verity, he trusts Dante and his team for some of the most important tasks of the Ordo Realitas.

  • By picking a lock from Beatrice Portinari's hair and store in his necklace along with that of Jasmin, Dante was the first protagonist that created a cursed item.[8]
  • According to Rakin, Dante did not consider anyone of the Order as friends in Deconjuration, since he had known them for a short time, and his greatest motivation to be allied with them was Beatrice.
  • One of Dante's goals was to destroy the blood creature created on the ritual involving a child and an Order agent.[84] In the "Prologue", he achieved this.
  • Dante has a tattoo on his back, being the Caduceus of Hermes. For Dante, the tattoo represents the duality between science and religion that the character always faces in his life and in his decisions.[85]
  • Rakin confirmed that when creating Dante, he thought of the exact opposite of Thiago: without charisma, intelligent and introverted.
  • Dante is allergic to peanuts.[86]

  • Rakin confirmed, after the revelation of his "Lusidius" form, that the black lines on Dante's face refers the crying and smiling faces commonly used in the ancient Greece to tragedy and comedy theaters. The marks also reference the old mark of Thiago Fritz in his Lusidius form, that formed a cross, as well as Dante’s when together.[89]

  • When Dante was arrested at the base of the Order, he kept books hidden in his cell behind a loose stone from the wall, and read them secretly at night.[91]
  • Dante was the protagonist with more sanity in Paranormal Order, as seen in "Orphanage".[92]
  • Rakin's idea, during the transition of Deconjuration to Calamity, was to turn Dante into an Occultist Combatant. This was not possible due to the system change and that the group would be without an occultist.[93]
  • Dante was abandoned in the orphanage as a baby, even before completing 1 year of life.
  • His appearance in Signals from the Other Side is inspired in the actor Keanu Reeves.[94]
