After a hideous breakfast at Wetherspoons the day before I came on to trip advisor to find somewhere better. This place came up and we gave it a go. Very busy with lots of workers in (always a good sign). Clearly used by locals too...as the staff knew their orders. We had breakfast baps, food was good and plenty of it, more importantly tea served in a classic white greasy spoon mug! Don’t pay silly ££££ at your hotel for breakfast, come here, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy. The lady serving us was great too, nothing too much trouble and all the orders were spot onMore

Found Peter's Cafe on Google Maps after being out the night before at a concert at Wembey Arena. I gave the reviews a quick read and decided to pay the cafe a visit for breakfast. We had a late start, so were very hungry by...the time we reached the cafe. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff, who seated us and gave us time to reveiw the menu, which were efficiently already laid out on the table, ready for us to choose something from the generous selection available. I opted for the full english with tea, which was priced at a very reasonable £10 and included thick doorstep toast. My husband has the sausage & bacon baguette, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He's not a hot drink type of guy so opted for a lucozade. The food was cooked and delivered to our table within no time and everything was cooked perfectly. The cafe has around eight tables inside, with a couple of additional small tables out front. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, it made me smile when I heard the ladies laughing in the background, whilst we enjoyed the food. I would highly recommend this cafe for breakfast lunch, or dinner and look forward to returning next time we're passing through London.More

Their set menu breakfasts are a nice deal and include coffee or tea. You can get your breakfast on toast or even as a bam, which apparently is with an additional piece of bread making it a kind of sandwich. They have sidewalk dining and...some tables inside. Perfectly nice spot for breakfast if you are in the area. Plenty of vegetarian choices.More

Being in a trade and eating in many cafes this is not the best. Service is slow extremely overpriced, I have eaten in cafes in Mayfair that are cheaper. Food quality isn’t great. If you looking for a hot drink to take away look no...further other than that try somewhere else.More

Called in here with husband and 5yr old to set us up for the day. Warm welcome and speedy service to start. Massive bowl of fresh hot porridge for little legs and a 'breakfast bap' (sausage, bacon, 2 egg, hash brown) for both of us...adults. 1 piping hot tea and 1 nice strong coffee Food was fresh and hot and very tasty. Lovely little gem.More

I went this morning to grab some breakfast in this local bar, and came out of there disappointed. The food and the coffee were very overpriced (almost 10£ for an Americano and muffin egg and sausage sandwich) which were good but definitely not worth 10£....But the most disappointing part are the ladies over the counter which were particularly rude. They had an attitude throughout the 2 mins i talk to them, looked at me badly just because they didn't understand my order and seemed they were working to do me a favor. When my food was ready they indicated my bag with a hand gesture. Of course, they didn't even say "hello" or a "goodbye". I simply had a takeout and I had a disappointing experience. Overall a terrible quality-price, I wouldn’t come back.More

Met an old colleague here for breakfast here and loved it. It’s all to hard to find a traditional London caf these days, especially around the city area. It’s simple, functional and clean. We shared a bacon sandwich, two lots of toast and peanut butter...and four coffees and the bill was under 25 quid. The food and the staff were great. Would definitely eat here again and recommend it to anyone.More

Great spot to have a traditional English breakfast with fast service whether you are dining in or taking away. Not a long wait if any and all the options are really good. I plan on going back the next time I visit London

Like other reviewers we stayed at the nearby Hilton and came here for breakfast. For those who love a traditional British breakfast this was excellent. Great service - friendly and quick, hot food clearly cooked to order and not pulled out of a hot plate....Unbelievably cheap price with tea or coffee included with the set meals. And great size mugs! Highly reccomended.More

Just opposite Aldgate tube station, this is a busy cafe with friendly, efficient staff. Large choice of breakfast and lunch dishes at reasonable prices. The portions are generous the bloomer bread is anazing! We ended up having all our breakfasts here as we were staying...in a nearby hotel. Highly recommended.More

1st rate cafe, no glitz, no glamour. Just a top class traditional establishment that serves very good dishes. Breakfast is the main that most people attend for. The full English is a giant of a meal and will keep you going from Dawn till dusk,...trust me it does for most, but, there is always the exception. There is a very friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome at Peters cafe and Peter and his staff consistently keep turning the dishes out. So if it’s busy, consider waiting, it’s worth it.More

What a fantastic café. We were staying in the Travelodge round the corner and had breakfast here twice. Great service, great food. Proper crusty bread used for toast and tea/coffee included in the full English. Happy to accommodate changes and very welcoming.

This is a very busy cafe opposite Aldgate tube, so busy that we had to sit outside but not a problem for us. Food very good, beans on toast was massive, reckon I had whole tin of baked beans on sourdough toast. Prices reasonable for...the area.More

After researching proper English cafes near our accomodation we decided on this one, and weren’t disappointed. You are greeted by staff who offer table service or take away. The owner works quickly and you can see all the fresh ingredients. It’s a tight space filled...with happy diners. Nearly all ordering the full English. Can’t wait to come back!More

Excellent spot. Looked it up on google before we went to London. Excellent menu, service and food. You know it's a great place, when you have to queue at the door! The waitress takes your order, without writing it down... very rare these days! Highly...recommend this place.More
