What travelers are saying
- AJC_travlersIdaho Falls, ID276 contributionsThis museum has mills from around the world that have been moved to this large park. You can go inside most of them and many are operating. Most are operated by wind, but there are other types. There are also models of many different kinds of mills in one of the buildings. There is an on-site bakery that makes delicious breads from freshly ground flour. The breads are baked in their large wood fired ovens. There are shady places to sit outside the bakery to enjoy the bread.
Plan to spend at least three hours walking and exploring this amazing place.Written July 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Yes, by its very nature this is a mostly outdoors place, a collection of windmills and watermills from around the world with the curios addition of the Russian churches (yep makes no immediate sense to me either.) it is very photogenic and informative, my only 'complaint' is that the restaurant doesn't have a wider menu.
But its good value for money, you can easily spend a few hours here.Written May 2, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of possibilities of sports and a sandy beach of about 1 kilometre!
We went there in bright sunshine on a weekend in March and it was really a pleasant day!Written March 19, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EvaF2EvaLorrach, Germany5,076 contributionsThis little charming church is not only an exhibit in mills museum but it is a functional church where Russian orthodox services take place. During my visit one of them was ongoing. I didn't want to disturb so I only quickly looked inside. Yet I can say its interior is as beautiful as the whole building from outside.
There is a separate entrance for visitors/tourists leading to the interesting exhibition about orthodox church in the ground floor of the church. Additional entrance fee is requested.Written April 14, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is very interesting and meaningful. It is located just a few steps from Mills museum and in walking distance Gifhorn downtown.Written April 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EvaF2EvaLorrach, Germany5,076 contributionsBecause of its name Bells Palace I expected something like bells exhibition or so but then I realize that the name is connected to the Freedom Bell in front of the building and the palace is more a culture center. There were several very interesting fine arts exhibitions, exhibition dedicated to Albert Schweitzer, exhibition related to manufacturing of Freedom bell. Also the building itself is beautiful with many interesting details. I recommend to plan enough time for a visit. I needed about two hours.Written April 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
