Hey John, thank you for your help.
I'm using Windows 10 Pro 2004 version and I have already tried everything you stated and none worked. It was working fine until last week then it suddenly stopped working and I did not make any changes recently.

Thank you for updating me that information. I'm sorry it didn't resolve the issue.
Please try to create a new local administrator account then check Snip and Sketch there.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/402692...
If still doesn't work, Please try to Perform a Repair Install of Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade. It will definitely help in resolving update errors. Performing this can repair broken operating system files while preserving your personal files, settings and installed applications.
**Few things to check on the PC
Important: Back up your personal data and files to an external hard drive, USB thumb drive, or cloud location (such as OneDrive) before you begin any reinstall of Windows 10.
Ensure you are signed in or have administrator rights to do a repair install
Unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable before starting
Disable or uninstall any 3rd party Anti-Virus program to prevent it from interfering with the upgrade
Kindly try to use the media creation tool.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...
Download the media creation tool and save it to your computer.
Open the tool and select Upgrade this PC now.
Make sure to select Keep personal files and apps.
It might take some time to install Windows 10. Your computer will restart a few times, Make sure you don’t turn off your PC.
Sincerely

I am not sure how I got in this thread.
But those fixes do not work.
I use a computer that has
snip & sketch version: 10.1907.2471.0 on it
and it works great.
My computer with Snip & Sketch Version: 10.2008.2277.0
DOES NOT work and I have tried the fixes mentioned.

It can be frustrating. I have the same version Snip & Sketch on a Windows 10 Pro edition 64-bit OS and it finally started working with the above tip #2 for the first time in six months and it still working. I wish a Microsoft expert would chime in as there's very little help on the Microsoft Help page re: this. If you're a Microsoft 365 subscriber, you can go to the Microsoft 365 website, log in, click on the nine dots in the upper left corner, select "Admin," and click on "Need help?" on the bottom right, and someone will call you in only a few minutes. I'm running a business version so your screen might be a little different.
That's the best I can recommend ...

I had the problem where Snip and Sketch would just blink and put a yellow outline around the screen, but not do anything otherwise.
Interestingly, as I was going through some of the troubleshooting suggestions on this forum, I uninstalled the application. I then tried Windows+Shift+S and the windows snipping tool works! Don't ask me why, must be a "feature" :)

Holy sh-t. Nothing on Microsoft is working. But yes, I have this same issue. My solution is to uninstall Snip & Sketch. The screen capture will then work to snip any area you want like how it used to work, but you no longer get the sketch option, and it only saves it to your clip board, so you will have to save to a paint file. Which is annoying. But, if you're trying to upload something to a blog, or online, to facebook, anything like that, you can just paste the image from your clipboard to upload it.
Other things that have gone wrong with Microsoft. I opened their feedback "report a bug" option. DOESN'T WORK. I tried to reply to this thread on Edge, DOESN'T WORK. I reset edge and everything along with dumping the cache. Still didn't work. I had to open Firefox for it to work. Microsoft, you're a multi-billion dollar corporation. GET YOUR SH-T TOGETHER!!!!!!!! I'm sick of this. This year you have caused more issues than you have fixed. First my OS was f-cked up because of a shotty update YOU released. So I had to reinstall my OS. Then MY wifi was effed up afterwards even though it had the same driver. I ended up just hard wiring my computer. Your Microsoft Office apps license manager is garbage. I had to reinstall 5 times. I had to go through your advanced troubleshooting, I spent days trying to fix it. The only thing that actually fixed it was buying a different license. I still have yet to get a refund on my previous license. Again. Get your sh-t together.

I have tried the fixes in this thread and other resources without success. Snip & Sketch Version 10.2008.2277.0 is also being installed on my PC - Windows 10 Pro at Ver 20H2
When attempting to "activate" the tool a busy circle displays near the cursor for a few seconds but nothing happens. :(
