Dealing with messy shoes and mismatched pairs can feel like an everyday battle, but it doesn’t need to be. With some clever storage solutions, everyone can leave home with the right shoes on with minimal fuss.
Cupboards and hallways can also stay tidy and organised. A few well-thought out solutions and a strategic trip to Bunnings Warehouse will equip you with everything you need, so keep reading for some great shoe storage tips.
Safety tip: Always wear the appropriate safety equipment (safety glasses, ear muffs, gloves and mask, for example) and always follow the instructions for the product or equipment.

Entryway organisation
Nothing makes indoor floors dirtier than walking around in dirty shoes. If you want to keep cleaning time down, entryway shoe storage is a great addition to any home. Think about installing a storage bench that holds shoes inside it, or a shoe cabinet with lots of shelves.

Clear shoe boxes

Large shoe rack
If you or your household have lots and lots of shoes that you need to store, consider a large movable shoe rack that you can wheel around. You can keep it in a spare bedroom or even the garage and it can hold shoes for all members of the family - big ones up top and little ones in easy reach at the bottom. Every shoe in the house will have a place on a large shoe rack like this.
Shoe baskets
If you tend to put shoes on and off in a communal area like a hallway or mudroom, storage cubes are a great solution. There are lots of colours to choose from, so each member of the family can have their own cube. This makes shoes easy to find, and, even better, easy to pack away. If you’re up for a bit of D.I.Y. creativity, why not decorate the cubes to make them even more unique? The kids will love ‘owning’ their very own cube.
