From Manila, guests travel one hour southwest by private plane, landing on Amanpulo's own airstrip. It was our 40th wedding anniversary and my wife surprised me with this trip to paradise. From the time we arrived at the Manila airport lounge to the time we got back, the service in all areas and every resort staff we encountered was friendly, flawless, and exemplary. The Beachside Casita’s, Clubhouse, Lagoon Club, Library had minimalist interiors and were all impeccable clean, comfortable and beautiful. The Filipino inspired designed is ageless and befitting its island paradise location. Despite the resort’s more than two decades of wear and tear, the resort still feels like new.

For us, the highlight of our stay was just relaxing in our own private beachfront lounger a few steps from the Casita gazing out to sea and swimming in its beautiful white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters while waiting for the picture-perfect sunsets. At most times, it was only me and my wife swimming on the 5 km long beach. The beautiful lush tropical jungle, colorful birds, wildlife, also added to the overall charm and character of the resort. The privacy the resort offers is second to none, made us feel like we were the only guests on the island. We were even lucky to even witness the release of some 60 green sea turtles which had hatched earlier that day. The Lagoon side beach also had several turtles of every age and size. Never had seen so many turtles swimming in one place before.

We also had very good dining experience at the Clubhouse and Lagoon Club. We celebrated our anniversary with a private beach barbeque fronting our Casita. We choose the Latino Menu (ceviche, ribeye steak, roast chicken, baby back ribs and chorizo) which were all so tender and delicious, and highly recommended.

Amanpulo is a true paradise and was truly a magical experience. We hope to be able to come back someday!

This resort is another level. It's essentially a private island with people only staying at the resort so its extremely safe. Our guest assistant, Karina greeted us, and showed us around on our own golf cart which lead us to our tree top room, which is much more quiet than being on the beach. The service was incredible and the rooms were just perfect. We also had a wedding renewal on the beach, and they were soooo sweet by decorating our gold cart, and giving us a private ceremony on the beach. The food was great and they grow 80% of the food on the island. We also did a private cruise around the island, followed by a private grilled dinner on the beach and the food was outstanding. The staff is extremely prideful and at every turn they are grateful to have guests and share their culture. Our guest assistant was there to answer any questions and super accommodating from start to finish, It's an extremely special place! Thanks for having us and look forward to coming back! xo

I have heard so many wonderful things about Amanpulo and how it's THE place to go when visiting the Philippines. It was always on my places to visit but I didn't think I would be able to go for this most recent trip to the Philippines. The entire experience is exactly that - an Experience. I tried not to do too much research prior to my trip since I wanted to take it all in and fully immerse myself. I had no expectations or have any idea what it would be like. All I know was that everyone had talked it up. Even with these already heightened expectations, I was still left speechless and in awe. They only fly out of Manila so I had to fly to Manila from Cebu and ended up staying a couple nights in Manila. I was picked up from my hotel and taken to a private airport hangar where I was able to check bags and enjoyed some light refreshments. When it was time to board, Island Aviation literally rolled out a red carpet and offered chilled towels upon boarding the private plane. The plane seats about 12 passengers and had the usual amenities in the seat pockets such as bottled water, a native woven fan and motion sickness bag. It also had ear plugs since the propeller plane does make a lot of noise. The flight only took about an hour and it felt surreal to land a plane right next to the beach. Once we disembarked, we were welcomed with a sampaguita lei and driven around in golf carts. We were offered a quick tour around the private island and dropped off to our beach casita. The casita is roomy with wonderful views of a hammock outside with the beach in the background. The bathroom is large and I was pleasantly surprised to see that my luggage was already situated in the closet. The bathroom has a shower and a standalone tub. Everything you could possibly need is already in the bathroom including a hairbrush, loofah, dental kits, insect repellent and even bath salts for the tub.

The views, the beach and the overall island just left me awestruck. The sand is powdery and so soft and the clear water is all shades of blue and turquoise. Each guest gets their own club car with a map so it was also a treat to be able to drive around and explore the whole island. The lagoon side of the island has calmer waters and is perfect for the sunrise while the casita side of the island has waves and is perfect for sunsets.

The staff is so accommodating to the point that if you're craving anything, they will find a way to procure it for you and fly it into the island. If there's something that you're craving and don't see it on the menu, they will do what they can to make it for you. The food is made with exceptional quality and the sushi tasted like something out of a Michelin omakase, which makes sense since I found out that they fly their fish from Tsukiji market. All the little attention to details is just astounding. Anything and everything that I could think of was quickly resolved or provided. I cannot even begin to fully articulate how this was such an incredible experience and definitely something that everyone needs to experience in their lifetime

We had such a great time at Amanpulo! Words can’t describe how beautiful it is over there. The sand is pristinely white, water so clear, and aqua life so diverse. Not to mention, the staff is incredibly friendly and reliable. We celebrated my mom’s birthday there, and they made sure to set everything up so perfectly for her. Special thanks to Eriko Visitacion and Philip who made our stay so pleasant and enjoyable! 🤍🌴

Spent 5 nights at Amanpulo. What a wonderful and relaxing stay! The location is really beyond compare - perfect beach, perfect turquoise water, lots of space between casitas, and an island just big enough to keep exploring. A few activity highlights were scuba diving and walking out to the sandbar at the end of the island. We also used the gym and it was great. The staff, as at any Aman, really set a standard that any other property cannot match - with special thanks to Fevelyn, Gerald and Rodel. What great people!

Prior to visiting and staying at Amanpulo for five days, I was wondering what makes it so expensive and well beyond what most people can afford. Now I understand why. To start with, the beach is definitely one of the best in the country. Its sand is white and fine, very soothing to the feet. Its waters are also crystal clear, clean and pristine. Yes, there are similar white sand beaches in the Philippines, but what puts Amanpulo above the rest is the accommodation and exclusivity it offers. Some of the accommodations have their private pool and direct access to the beach. The more exclusive ones even have a private butler and maintenance personnel. A personal cart is also provided which you can use to roam around the island. There are also clubhouses, restaurants, a gym, a spa, a tennis court, a clinic, etc. Food is also delectable. If these are not enough, consider the possibility to have your own private dinner in designated spots and the chance to engage in quite a number of water activities.

There are more than 500 resort personnel that keep the place going and render impeccable service to the resort guests. And since we're talking about a rather isolated island reachable only through private plane from Manila, generators provide the much needed electric or power supply, and all this is expensive! You may figure out whence the resort gets its funding, in this case.

Is Amanpulo worth-visiting? Well, if you have the money to pay, go for it! It's a real tropical paradise just 70mins away from the chaos of the capital. :D

This is perhaps the worst lux++ resort we have ever stayed in:

1. at the outset i will point out that we have stayed at 2-3 ultra lux hotels (3k a night) in the past like royal mansoor in marrakech and the roaming bushtops in serengeti. the service at both were awesome and there was no nickel and diming. its pathetic that Aman staff will charge your room for generic hair tie usage in the gym.
2. its a private island with a focus on water activities. almost all water activities were cancelled everyday during our 5 day stay with a generic whatsapp message sent by management every morning. in one case we showed up in our swimwear at their watersports center for a scheduled event (event at their floating bar) and then informed us that they forgot to tell us its cancelled.
3. the food was plain abysmal. the chef blamed it on bad ingredients and poor Filipino hospitality culture. one of their dishes, a jackfruit curry, was raw jackfruits with seeds intact and canned pumpkin puree. they had a saag panner on their menu. we order it twice for room service attempt 1: they sent us mung beans with tuna attempt 2: they sent us steamed spinach, raw spices & some chunks of cheese.
4. they have a "no exception prompt 12 pm checkout" rule when the only way off the island is via a 3 pm flight. We were stuck at the welcome center (read hotel lobby) for 3+ hrs. And a flight delay cost us. Their lobby tea was 18 dollars a pop.
4. even the service at their shuttle base in manila was awful. they loaded my luggage onto someone else's van and almost sent it into ether. i had to run behind the van to avert this disaster. we had a car to airport dropoff included but when we asked for a 3 hr usage as we had time to kill they proposed a fee of $300. Nothing in Manila should cost $300. Its not Paris.

We spent 4 nights on this magical island. We have been to many islands around the world and this is one of the best. The ocean is so blue and the white sand is powdery and soft. Our beach casita is privately tucked in the lush tropical garden with a beach view from our room. We hardly see any other guests and we felt like we owned the island. The service is top-notched and we were greeted by names everywhere we were. They remembered everything we liked and we did not even have to ask for them again. We spent a day at the spa with a private yoga class and a massage which was excellent. The private beach barbecue is a must. They had a live guitarist singing love songs for us. We will definitely stay here again.

Celebrated my bro's pre-40th bday celebration in Amanpulo. It was breathtakingly great from the time we arrived at the Amanpulo lounge in Manila. My bro booked the 4-bedroom villa with amazing sunset views every night. We were given a quick tour of the island by our villa staff then we were taken to our villa where there were drinks and snacks for us to decompress from the hustle and bustle of Manila. It was definitely the most memorable time I've had while visiting the Philippines. The pool was great since there was always a shade from the trees nearby. Making pool time great without having to worry about applying sunscreen. So many activities and we could not do it all, but spending time on cabana raft with the family was my favorite, we were able to snorkel as well. It's pretty much two activities in one. The food at the clubhouse and public areas was fine, however our catered meals from our personal chef was very tasty and custom made for us. The staff that attended to us were very responsive to our requests and made our beds when we were away on excursion or out on the pool area. They are why our stay was flawless. I also enjoyed having a golf cart to explore the island on my own. The pavilion was a great place to have some family time. All in all, my Amanpulo experience made me wish I could return again and again and again.

I've been to Amanpulo before. I've also been to Amansara and Amanjiwo during the Zecha era. Staying at an Aman was certainly one of life's most luxurious experiences. Clearly, Amanpulo, which should be one of Aman's shining stars has already become an average resort. I wonder how Zecha truly feels about this.

We were supposed to go, but it was a blessing that it got cancelled due to a family emergency. From the numerous emails and phone calls during the booking process, I did not feel any luxury at all. I tried my luck to ask for an upgrade. I did not just get a resounding no, but they kept pushing me to upgrade and spend more. I also received a food menu with all the prices when Aman never used to have prices in their menus. What was the point of this? To let me know how costly their food is?

I was also aghast to see that the picnic is a mere bento box. The picnic used to be a full on meal with private waiters. It was very impressive and worth the price.

Then came the activity brochure, they literally charge for everything. I think it's so tacky to even charge for kayaks. That's not very luxurious at all. And if you read through it, I don't know why they even include standard Aman activities in there.

In fact, when I raised this matter with the owner's staff, the response I got was the "beach is still the same beach. If you feel that way, you can just go to other resorts." Thus, I did.

I went to Nay Palad. Then to Pangulasian twice, which is also in Palawan. Then we went to the Maldives, I'll review that later and we're going to Amanoi and Amankila later in the year.

To compare two Aman resorts, the booking at Amanoi was excellent. They agreed to double upgrade right away for no reason needed. They also were a step ahead of me in every way possible. The transfers, my baby's needs, flight details, etc. They are also a lot cheaper and the kayaks and other non-motorized activities are complimentary! That's what you call service!

Also, I'm all for making it more affordable, but the annual text blasts with discounted rates, credit card promos, installment payments is a business strategy that's quite undignified, especially for an Aman resort.

Clearly, it's just an overpriced place for wanna be influencers and stragglers, undeserving of the Aman name.

We added a tip to each meal, a tip for each spa activity, a tip for the house staff at the end of our stay, and we gave a few special tips to those that went out of their way for us. We left $10 per day for the house staff, 20% for meals, the spa and special tips varied.
