So Ateez's fans are flooding the comments section of Newjeans' "Gods" MV and claim that the song should have belonged to their idols and that the opportunity should have been theirs. I'm really curious. Like, who said that? Where did you read that? Do you have any evidence?
Those who think so, are you mentally okay? And those who have to endure all that shit in the fandom, are you okay too?

Anity is the fandom with the most serious victim syndrome I've ever seen. Previously they claimed that BTS and HYBE did everything to bring down their idols because they were jealous of their success. And now this shit. Girl please. Your idols just performed at coachella, they are doing fine, stop victimizing them.

Both NewJeans and Illit are victims of this situation. Are we seriously going to blame either group for this insanity and withhold sympathy from them?
The comment said “if anyone deserved the victim mentality”. I am just pointing out that a group’s entire existence was impugned here.
Frankly as a matter of what has transpired so far, seems to me like Lesserafim was given the worst of it. And their idols were called out by name, one of them having already been the punching bag for months. But ultimately NewJeans are the ones who have to live with the result of this rift, whether it’s losing an influential director who they trusted for years, or losing the company that funds them and maintains all of their brand relationships.

I remember these rumors lol. I absolutely ran with it and got a lot of my normie friends who liked KDA into listening to Ateez in anticipation of what I thought was going to be a World's song.
There was a ton of speculation that the Worlds song was going to be performed by Ateez since they visited Riot's HQ in LA a couple months before Worlds last year. Riot's social media also made a big deal out of them visiting, which also added credence to the rumors. Dramatic over the top flair is kind of what Ateez is known for, which would have fit the League Worlds "sound" perfectly.
After NewJeans came out with Gods, I remember my hopes on Ateez being involved in some capacity was pinned on the League boy band Heartsteel. Alas, it was not to be. Baekhyun killed it though.
People who say NewJeans stole it are probably overzealous teenagers. Ateez was never confirmed for anything. I have no idea why they're flooding the comment section now when this happened months ago.
They’re flooding it now because of those blind items that came out about HYBE buying promotions and opportunities for new jeans. So some fans brought back an article that said something like “while recording we were worried because it was a song that was made to be sung by male voices but it turned out well”.
So some atinys believe HYBE stole it from ateez and gave it to NJ🤦♀️🤦♀️
The male voice thing is probably because Mako, who is a male artist and sung a previous World's song, has been heavily involved in producing every World's for the last six-ish years. I don't really think people know the background enough to speak on this.
Also, I forgot to mention this, but I was getting my hopes up that Ateez would do the World's song. Every year, Riot has alternated between male and female performers for the song. Keeping with the pattern, last year was always going to be a female singer (or singers), just like this year will have male artists perform the song.
Ateez likely did have something planned with Riot considering they travelled as a group to their HQ at one point and tweeted about it. Nothing was confirmed as to what they were there for but Gods is heavily ATEEZ coded so people presume this was meant to be their song.
It does not sound like New Jeans' vibe at all that's for sure.

I am an ATINY and this absolutely not right. There have been set-up accounts trying to drag ATEEZ into the mess, but our focus is solely on the comeback. Some non-stans are spreading misinformation about ATEEZ’s tour tickets to rile up shit. This is definitely not it. The fandom is backing NewJeans cos they are in this mess without any control.

Atinys are notoriously insufferable and constantly feel like ateez are underdogs and are so much more talented than every big company group just an annoying bunch
unhinged kpop fans are something else. it is not stealing if they haven’t made a deal and paid for the song. it is common in an industry like these for composers/songwriters to share their works to few labels at once, they should blame the KQ team for losing the song to Hybe😭

If I got money every time stuff like this happen in the K-pop world I'd be rich. I swear if it's something K-pop fans (I'm referring specifically to internet K-pop fans) excel at, that's being creative with theories and inventing stuff out of their brains.
This is almost as wild as unhinged ARMYs accusing ATEEZ of plagiarism for using the word 'Golden' for their new album, since that word is trademarked by Jungkook duh 😂. Kpop is WILD these days.
Anyway, I actually think while GODs does sound very Ateez coded to me, ATINYs are ruining chances for future collaborations by behaving so immaturely. I truly do think the fandom is a groups worst enemy sometimes, and that applies to all of them.
It started again because Riot posted a lot about ateez, liked comments about them being involved etc. and never mentioning any other group before the song was announced as New Jenses.
It blew up again because recently someone found an interview with the producers of the song who said they knew it didn't fit NJ's style but it still went well considering the song was written for male voices.
So I guess you can see where the assumptions came from.
