The mascot of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is “Bing Dwen Dwen”, a stylised Giant Panda wearing a shell of ice that is intended to mimic a space suite – a nod to winter sports, embracing new technologies and China’s advances in space exploration.

It was created by Cao Xue, Dean of the School of Visual Arts and Design at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in China.
