The fourth and best album from Switzerland punkabillies the Peacocks, It's Time For improves matters greatly over the group's previous releases courtesy of Mass Girorgini's bright punk-pop production, which emphasizes not only the trio's rockabilly roots, but the sheer pogo-able catchiness of their songs. Always closer to the 'billy-flecked Aussie pop-punks the Living End than to the likes of the Cramps, or even the Reverend Horton Heat, this album simply magnifies what have always been the group's strongest assets. Ripping rockers like "Last Words" meet equally effective mid-tempo tunes like "I Can Do a Lot for My Size," giving the album somewhat more dynamic range than their previous releases could manage, and the choruses and riffs are uniformly strong. Rockabilly purists might balk at the album's downshifting of those elements of the Peacocks' sound, but then, rockabilly purists probably didn't listen to the Peacocks much in the first place.
