Mario Lemina breaks silence after Wolves' defeat to Bournemouth

Wolves slipped to another defeat in the Premier League against Bournemouth – and Mario Lemina has now sent a message on social media after the disappointing result.

Wanderers extended their winless run to six games in the league, with the Cherries superior at Molineux. Antoine Semenyo scored the only goal of the game, and the win for Bournemouth saw them move into the top 10, leapfrogging Wolves in the process.

There was, once again, a feeling of frustration for Wolves fans, who watched Hwang Hee-chan have his header ruled out by VAR.

Matheus Cunha was adjudged to have fouled Justin Kluivert in the build-up, a decision that has baffled and enraged even neutrals.

Wolves again thought they’d equalised late on when Max Kilman turned in. But he was marginally offside, and Bournemouth held on.

It was another tough one to take, and today, Mario Lemina has sent a message to fans on social media…

Hwang’s goal being disallowed has rather dominated the post-match analysis of the game.

It was incredibly soft, and hard to take for Wolves fans who watched Morgan Gibbs-White push Nelson Semedo recently to score a goal for Nottingham Forest, which was overlooked.

Ultimately, despite that decision last night, Wolves have to look at themselves. Gary O’Neil said it afterwards, it was one of the worst displays of the season – the first-half in particular.

It was a poor performance and it’s clear the players are a bit worn down at this point because of the small squad size.

Today, Mario Lemina has become the first Wolves player to take to social media after last night’s game.

And rather than reference the disallowed goal, he sent a brief message of defiance. He said on his Instagram Story: “We’re still hungry. See you at Molineux again on Saturday. ALL TOGETHER.”

Lemina the leader… again

Fans will not be surprised that Lemina is the first player to take to social media after the defeat to Bournemouth.

While some see this kind of thing as being a bit hollow, Lemina is someone who is consistent with it and you just know that he deeply cares about this team.

After Wolves had a late goal controversially ruled out against West Ham United recently, Lemina refused to talk about the decision and instead focused on the team and their performance.

He has again held back from talking about the controversial decision, and is keen for a response from his teammates. It’s a great show of leadership once again.
