- Wonderful Cover Album

First of all, The original title of this album is "I Remeber Patsy". The CD is EXACTLY the same with the exception of the cover photo. Why record companies change the title for no reason I'll never know. Anyway, thats just a tiny irritation on my part.

Now as far as the music. This is a very good album from 1977. It includes Loretta's #1 hit recording of "She's Got You" and another top 10 "Why Can't He Be You". Overall this is a very good album. I would not rate it as a classic as it is not exactly the hardcore country that Loretta excels at but she does very well on songs that were originally done to cross over when done by Patsy Cline. It is very difficult for any artist to do a tribute album as it is almost impossible not to compare the songs to the original. What makes this one succeed is that Patsy's and Loretta's styles are so different and Loretta does not try to copy Patsy's pop style but instead keeps it very country for the most part. She does her best on some of Patsy's lesser known tunes such as "Faded Love" or her exceptional cover of "Leavin' On Your Mind." and actually has more spunk than Patsy on "Back in Baby's Arms" & "Walking After Midnight". There is one slight miss here and for me that would be "Crazy" Its just one of those songs where you just can't match the original. Not that Loretta can't match Patsy. Patsy may trump Loretta a bit when it comes to these types of songs but take an actual honky tonk song and you have no match for Loretta. Either way, it's just my opinion on 2 legendary country singers. This is a fitting trbute to Patsy from her friend Loretta. I actually like it when female singers are secure enough to take on others classics. Bottom line is that if you purchase this and like real country music you will surely enjoy this.

- Not Even Close

Loretta, as well as anyone else who would ever dare to sing Patsy Cline's songs, is terrible in comparison. Why do people even attempt at singing Patsy's songs? It just makes them sound even worse than they really do. Singing her songs seems almost disrespectful.
