Editorial Reviews

Review

“Chock full of important points about the pitfalls of the industrial food system and ways to address them...a handy guide to good talking points about the food system...this small book goes beyond laying out the facts (though it does that as well). Prince Charles conveys real empathy -- for those struggling to feed their families, and for those attempting to solve the world's hunger problem with genetically-modified crops and intensified agriculture. If we could all speak so knowledgeably and kindly of these issues, perhaps the global food debate would be a bit more measured and informed.” ―SeriousEats.com

It was heartening and inspiriting to hear from Prince Charles, who farms and knows a lot about food economics and health. He is a voice of reason and influence on the need for sustainable agriculture and the harm being done to our health and the health of the planet by monoculture and greed. We are starving on bad food and he makes the argument for systemic changes in food production. His tone is reasonable and low key, but his argument is revolutionary.

This is a succinct manifesto of why organic is best. He obviously believes in a small footprint and expresses his views in an appealing, concise way. Tried to get some for friends who are borderline greenies with no luck. Buy it if you can.

This book is we'll thought out and covers all the main issues concerning food quality and access in the near future. It explains the problems and suggests viable solutions that we can start now to plan for a future of increasing population, food shortages and other variables such as climate change.

Thank you for such an objective outlook on our food supply. You definitely are aware of the food crises we are anticipating.

I was surprised that the Prince would be writing on this topic. It was concise and impassioned.

I read it on my new Kindle, and that was neat too.

A short speech from HRH, touching on many of the pertinent subjects facing farming, food production and globalization. Somewhat superficial and lacking in solid solution proposals
