Gene Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Molnar Funeral Home - Brownstown Chapel on Feb. 8, 2023.
Obituary of Gene A. Wilson
March 13, 1959 – February 7, 2023
Gene A. Wilson. Age 63 of Wyandotte.
Beloved husband of Connie Wilson (Cauvin). Loving father of Raymond (Jessica) and John. Dearest grandfather of Austin, Caleb, and Madyson. Great grandfather of Wynter-Rae and Lelani. Dear brother of Jerry (Curlean) and Rick, brother-in-law of Jan Wilson, Cathy Wilson, and Alan Kinney. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his siblings, Jim, Jeff (Pam Gorman), Mike, John (Lori), and Joyce Kinney.
Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory located within the Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.
Gene Anthony Wilson was born on March 13,1959 to John and Frances Wilson. He was born and raised Wyandotte, Michigan. After high school he began working in the factory. This is where he met the love of his life, Connie. He let her wear his welders mask and fell in love with her right then and there. His love for Connie only grew more and more. On February 18th, 1979 they were married and together they raised two amazing sons, Raymond and John. Gene never missed an opportunity to spend quality time with them, watching wrestling with John and fishing with Raymond. He loved his boys and was very proud of them.
Gene loved music, especially playing guitar and Karaoke. He enjoyed Gospel music and in his free time he and his brothers would go to different nursing homes and sing for the residents.
Gene was passionate about giving and helping others. He would put together food baskets and deliver them to those in need. The gift of giving is what led him to become Santa's helper. He would grow his beard out every year and if anyone needed a Santa, he was willing and ready to put on that red suit. He did this for years, even when his health was making it harder and harder to get around, he wanted to spend a few hours as Santa - this was what he loved - making others happy.
Anyone who knew Gene, knew the love and devotion he had for Connie and she for him. They had always wanted to renew their vows and celebrate their love together. Gene and Connie "got married again" on February 5th, 2023. Due to Gene's health, they had a beautiful ceremony at the hospital where they were married again just 13 days shy of their 44th wedding anniversary.
On February 8th, 2023, Gene passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
He is home, feeling good and ready to run.
