Eddie Howe Announces Newcastle Team For Brighton – Wilson Out

Eddie Howe has just announced the Newcastle team to play our final home game against Brighton this afternoon.

There were rumors Callum Wilson may not make the game and he is not in the squad; we have to assume he is injured.

Update on Wilson.

This is what Eddie Howe said after the team was announced:

“Callum’s just not feeling 100% today. A little of tightness, it’s not an injury as such.”

Here’s where we are in the league with just 3 games to play.

Premier League Table 2023-2024

PositionTeamPlayedWonLostDrawnGDPoints
5Tottenham38201261366
6Chelsea38181191463
7Newcastle38181462360
8Man United3818146-160
9West Ham38141310-1452

Over 85% of readers think we can win this game so anything but 3 points will be disappointing.

A win would be terrific and keep us within reach of a European place for next season.

This is going to be a very tough match, but also that’s a strong bench.
Any bets on Dummett coming on in the 92nd minute for his final chorus in a home game?

Thanks for your kind thoughts and believe me, there’s nowt I like more than having a couple of drinks and some civilised chat with you and others. There is though a small matter of some 400 miles to get to Newcastle and I don’t get there too often.

I’m not a one for gins in a pub and much
prefer a few decent real ales topped off with a decent malt or two. Unlike you Magic I ain’t got the capacity I used to have.

No matter, we’ll share a few some other tike and in the meantime, you take care and enjoy your visit.

Good to see Tripps make the bench. Looks like we at least have decent cover front to back today.

In other words, not yet injured again but about to be.

I would have felt a lot more comfortable of Wilson was starting or in the bench in case we have one of our famous sluggish starts. Still last home game, the players should be bang up for it. 3-1 win!

At the final whistle a lorry pulls on the the pitch… Ritchie hops in the drivers seat with Dummett sat next to him and they can wave from there as they drive off in to the city streets and the sunset. 🙂
