When Ulvhild Håkansdotter was born in 1100, her father, Håkon Finnsson, was 27 and her mother, Brigida Ulfsdatter, was 40. She married King Swerker I Kettilsson den gamle after 1134. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. She died in 1148, in Alvastra, Östergötland, Sweden, at the age of 48.

Vreta Abbey was established around 1100 and was the first Christian convent in Sweden. It was located in modern-day Linkoping Municipality. It was founded on orders of Pope Paschal II with large donations by King Inge the Elder and Queen Helena.
