buddhadharma (P. buddhadhamma; T. sangs rgyas pa'i chos; C. fofa 佛法) means "the teachings of the Buddha."
According to the The Princeton Dictionary of Buddhism, the term buddhadharma is one of the closest Indian equivalents to what in English is called “Buddhism,” along with:[1]
- dharmavinaya, "the teaching and the discipline"
- buddhānuśāsana, "the dispensation of the Buddha"
- śāsana "the dispensation"
Other traditional terms for Buddha's teachings are:
- saddharma, "true dharma"
- buddhavacana, the word of the Buddha
The term dharmapravacana refers to the scriptures or speech of the buddha.
