Katrine Veje

Denmark International, Katrine Vejsgaard Veje joined Everton in August 2022 from FC Rosengård on a two-year deal.

Born in Fredericia in Denmark, Veje started her career at Odense BK in 2007 where she won the Danish Football Association’s prize for Young Player of the Year in her first season.

The defender has gone on to have a decorated career spanning across the top-flight leagues in Denmark, Sweden, United States of America, France and England.

She is one of Denmark’s most-capped players, with more than 140 appearances for her nation.

A serial winner, Veje has won the Damallsvenskan (2011, 2013), Swedish Super Cup (2011, 2012), NWSL Shield (2015), Elitedivisionen (2015, 2017) and the Danish Women’s Super-Cup (2015, 2017).

In the 2018/19 season, she became a Barclays Women’s Super League champion with Arsenal playing a key role in their title charge.

A popular member within the Everton squad, Veje’s influence has spread across the team with her top-level experience being a key factor in improving the youth within the Blues side.

Her first season for the Club was disrupted through injury, but she was still able to make 14 appearances and helped the Blues earn four clean sheets.

Veje started the 2023/24 well, playing in the Blues' first eight league fixtures and assisted Megan Finnigan's winning header in the Merseyside derby victory in October.

However, injury issues forced the Denmark international into a spell on the sidelines. The defender made her return in March 2024 at Goodison Park against Liverpool.

She finished the season with 13 WSL appearances and picked up a second assist in the top-flight, sending the ball into the box for Emma Bissell to tap home in the Blues' 4-0 victory over Bristol City on the final day.

Contracted until: June 2024
