This is one of my favorite places to stay on property at Disney. The savanna rooms are awesome as I love to drink my morning coffee and watch the giraffe and zebra from the balcony or through the large sliding glass windows.

The check in and out process never seems to be backed up. If you have a car with you, it is one of the easiest places to find a parking space near your room as parking is in a garage under the rooms.

However, you do need to keep in mind that the trip to all theme parks except the Animal Kingdom takes a little longer due to its location, whether you are driving or taking the Disney shuttle. The longest ride is to Magic Kingdom.

The Kidani lodge is awesome! Our room overlooked the savanna, and we were able to sit on our balcony and watch the animals wandering around. The staff were all very friendly, and the lodge is set up to ensure everyone's safety, such as wearing face masks and hand sanitizer around every corner. We stayed in a one bedroom savanna view room, which was a little pricey, but worth it! There were two negatives. When we first arrived, our magic bands would not open our hotel room door, so we had to walk a long, long way back to the lobby desk to have them reprogramed. Also, the restaurant located onsite was booked solid each night we were there, so we had to take a bus to Disney Springs to get dinner. On the positive, the Disney bus transportation service is excellent! We're definitely looking forward to a return trip to the Disney Animal Kingdom Kidani Lodge!

There is nothing quite like an entire animal kingdom right outside your doorstep while you are on holiday! I am so glad your visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village left you with a sense of wonder and enjoyment. I am sorry that upon checking in there were complication with MagicBands. Our Resort layout is sprawling to create so many Savanna Views, but it can be a long way, especially if you have to walk it back to back. I am pleased that it seems once sorted this did not slow down the fun. Disney transportation is one of those things I just cannot rave about enough. When I am on vacation I love to know I can park my car and not have to worry about it until I check out. It's wonderful this was a convenience throughout your trip. On behalf of our Cast Members, both human and members of the animal family, we look forward to another wild time with you and your family real soon. Alexa Disney Social Reviews

They took quite some time for them to bring our luggage to our room about 45 minutes after we entered our room, and the bathroom had a few stains around the toilet area that should have been cleaned better. The Location and the Friendliness of the staff was Excellent. Disney does an excellent job and making my family feel at home throughout our visit. The way Disney has everything connected through our Wrist bands was excellent. The Bands are connected to our room key, our pictures, our entry to the Resort and our pictures throughout our stay. Highly recommend to any family.

We are DVC members and wanted to try resorts we had not stayed at so we booked a few nights in a studio at Kidani with a savannah view. View was great. Lots of animals wandering and when they put out their food, they put it in a place you can see from your rooms. It was so relaxing to watch them graze and wander. The room was nice - queen bed, couch, 2 chairs with small table and dresser. A small kitchenette was in the hall with small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, sink and utensils. Enough for breakfast and snacks. Bathroom was very dark. They have a yellow tinted lense in light which made it too dark. It also had a smell from a vinyl new shower curtain. They should have aired it out. The staff issues came when we got back to our room in the evening we had a voice message saying we were switching rooms the next day based on our request. We did not make this request and when I called the front desk, they did not know why I received this message and apologized. The next morning, there was a knock on our door from housekeeping saying we requested towels, we did not and we had a do not disturb sign on the door. My husband was sleeping. They need to pay attention to room numbers.

Also Kidani has only one sit down restaurant, you have to go to Jambo House for a quick service meal which is a half mile walk or you can take a shuttle. Not convenient if you are in a hurry. Pool seemed very nice with a large kids play area. Would probably stay at Jambo House the next time if we go back.

While it certainly sounds like you experienced some real highlights during your visit, I'm sorry to hear about the concerns you shared regarding service. I absolutely understand why this would put a damper on your stay and truly appreciate you sharing these disappointments with us; after all, feedback like this is crucial to continuous improvement. I hope you were able to enjoy Sanaa during your time! This restaurant truly has unmatched views and incredible food. As you mentioned, if you're looking for a few more options a little closer to your room Jambo House would be a great option for your next visit! I can honestly say that it plays host to some of my favorite dining locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts. No matter where you decide to stay next, we look forward to welcoming you home again soon. Liz Disney Social Reviews

We had a savanna view room for 6 days. The room and the view were very nice and relaxing. The challenge arose with the distance to the lobby and transportation. I requested a room closer to the main building due to a mobility challenge (real, not imagined). The distance was still very far from the main building, and, by the time I walked to the transportation, my leg muscles cramped and this pretty much ruined the trip. This could be alleviated by having some sort of shuttle from the ends of the buildings to the main buliding.
Lyft drivers could not figure out how to enter the parking garage and drive to the nearest elevator where we would have been more than willing to meet them and pay for that transportation. Some said they were not permitted into the garage. This seems contrary to ADA standards, but I could not get a straight answer about it.
We used points to stay, and it was a very pricey stay. We have stayed at other resorts, value (Pop, Movies, Music), moderate (Fort Wilderness cabins, Caribbean Beach, French Quarter) and Contemporary, and any of those would be preferred over AKL.
The restaurants at AKL are phenomenal, but can be reached by Lyft or bus, and that is what we will do if we ever visit again. This past trip just destroyed the magic.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. While I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed your room itself and the wonderful views found at this Resort, I'm truly sorry for any issues with the location of your room. It's true that this Resort is spread out to accommodate the beautiful savanna found outside its windows. While room requests are never guaranteed, I certainly encourage you to request a room closer to the lobby when calling to book a stay with us. We always want to accommodate Guests who need accessible rooms and working with one of our Reservation Cast Members is the best way to make this request. Additionally, I encourage you to visit your Resort Front Desk should you ever have any issues with your stay. Our Cast there can certainly look into alternative rooms or other solutions to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Thanks again for sharing this valuable feedback with us. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Nina Disney Social Reviews

We paid $1275 per night for a 2 bedroom suite. The suite was comfortable, although some kitchen basics were lacking (no frying pan, no blender, although they brought these items to us after we requested). The first suite we were given was a 10 minute walk from the lobby for a fast walker. With my mother, it took us literally 30 minutes to walk from the lobby to the room (upon request the next day they changed to a closer suite). The day of our check-out we got a knock on the door at 8am. The maid said only "what time you leave?". Ok....

The whole fake Africa thing is just weird. There were not many animals walking around... a few giraffes, some wildebeests, some african bulls. For what we paid, we were generally disappointed.

Thank you for giving our wildest Resort hotel a try. When you stay here, we want you to feel like you are on your own African safari while enjoying all the comforts of home. I'm glad you found the accommodations to be comfortable, but it is clear that we did not exceed your expectations. I sincerely apologize for any disappointment. You made the right choice by sharing your concerns with our Cast Members, and I am glad they were able to add some magic back to your stay. We appreciate the feedback you shared, and are very sorry this Resort hotel was not a good fit for your family. For your next visit, I suggest checking out Disney's Old Key West Resort. These spacious accommodations include all the comforts of home, and the peaceful atmosphere makes this the perfect place to relax after long days in our Theme Parks. Your family is sure to enjoy the shimmering waterways and swaying palm trees, not to mention the delicious dining options. I hope you will keep this Resort hotel in mind. Anna Disney Social Reviews

We had 3 nights in a standard room. I wanted a savannah view, but it wasn't available. You know what? We didn't miss it! We had a small patio with a view of the pool and it was fine. There were plenty of opportunities to visit the observation areas and see the giraffes, zebra, crowned cranes, and my favorite - ankole cattle! The room was a nice size and had a couch. The bathroom was very nice and we appreciated that there was a door separating the toilet from the sink and shower. The pool was very nice, even though we only went once. You want a nice hotel, but it's Disney! You're not going to spend much time in your room. You wake up early and come back exhausted. It was great to see that there was a coin-operated laundry available. It was a little tricky to navigate dining because the few restaurants that are open are booked months in advance. The walk-up option does work well though. There's a bit of a wait, but they text you, so you can be anywhere else enjoying yourself. Also be aware that you will spend alot of time on the Disney busses. This property is probably one of the furthest from the other attractions.

Our family scored a great deal on a 2 bedroom suite. While the room in my opinion was a bit average, you’re obviously paying for the views which cannot be beat.

The kitchen utensils and cookware could use a bit of an upgrade but overall the kitchen met our needs for some in room dinners. Having the third full bathroom was a game changer and having the additional chair and couch pull outs were wonderful. The king room had an amazing bathroom with large shower and jetted tub.

We had a 5th floor room directly across from the lobby across the savannah. We requested close to the giraffe but I think we could have been closer if we were closer to the lobby.

The Jambo house pool is much larger than the Kidani pool and it is open. For adults, I’d recommend the Jambo location. Very kid friendly at the other.

The large connected balcony was a great place for us all to gather and hang out. The price tag associated with the room is Disney price inflated, but it’s worth it due to the views outside your window. It is worth the money.

Lastly,
Breakfast was a great price and very good.

Hello and thank you so much for stopping by to share this review of your wild stay with us at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. I'm so thrilled to know you enjoyed your overall stay with us. This is by far one of my favorite locations in all of Walt Disney World Resort; specifically because of the views of the savanna that you mentioned and also captured beautifully in your photo. While I'm sorry the kitchen wasn't quite what you had hoped, I'm glad to know it worked well for you and that you enjoyed the comfortable features of your room. I understand you were hoping to be closer to the giraffe, and I'm glad you were able to be near where you wanted to be. Our Cast Members do their very best to accommodate requests but they are not always guaranteed. It certainly seems like you enjoyed your location though. After such a magical stay with us, I sure do hope we will be able to welcome you back again sometime real soon. Until then! Jody Disney Social Reviews

We stayed in a studio without a Savannah view; balcony had a concrete wall instead of railing, so there was no view at all. The rest of the family was in a Villa with a view of the savannah animals. We were able to enjoy viewing several species up close at various times from their balcony. The resort is very large and we both requested to be close to lobby and elevator. It cut down significantly on walking to resort transportation and the resort placed us right across the hall from grandkids. Worked out great for family. The dark safari theme is OK, but lighting in room was also dark. Room was well appointed and staff was very helpful. Weather was chilly and pool was under renovation. Great community room and activities for families. Dining menus are a bit unusual and we chose to other options for meals.
Our room was very pricey and I would recommend trying to obtain Disney Vacation club points if you really want to experience the Savannah views and Animal kingdom experience. There are many other great resorts if you are not really interested in the Savannah views during your stay.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge-Kidani Village has the BEST Housekeeping staff, I have come across in my travels. Our family arrived and the rooms we were staying in were spotless. Then when I called on the off chance that they had mattress toppers to help make the sofa bed and the Oversized Chair more comfortable, they did! Joni C. showed up to help remedy the situation. She traveled all over the resort to find the toppers and brought extra linens/pillows, even though I did not request them, but was grateful for them anyway. She worked a solid hour between finding the toppers, making the beds and making sure we were completely satisfied. She was Awesome! We are planning on a trip in 2021 with a large number of family members and we will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, because of the customer service alone. Thank you so much!
