"5 CD SET OF ALL THEIR GREATEST HITS PLUS RARE TRACKS!"
This box set is simply the five Laserlight CDs packaged together in a slipcase. The packaging with each disc is identical to that of those sold individually. 15 969 is the catalog number for the box. The 12 xxx numbers are those of the individual discs.
All tracks are stereo with the exception of "Who Would Ever Think That I Would Marry Margaret, "Sound Asleep" and "Can't You Hear the Cows". "You Don't Have to Walk In the Rain" is the narrow stereo (near-mono) remix.

Reviews
- Edited 8 years agoThis set is likely as comprehensive of a collection that we will ever get of these guys. If you got these discs, you'd be lacking the following songs from the original studio albums (this isn't taking into account the various mixes and remixes):
It Ain't Me Babe:
"Let the Cold Winds Blow"*, "A Walk In the Sun", "Last Laugh"
You Baby:
"Flyin' High"*, "I Know That You'll Be There"*, "House of Pain", "I Need Someone", "Give Love a Trial", "Pall Bearing, Ball Bearing World", "All My Problems"
Happy Together:
"The Walking Song", "Person Without a Care", "Rugs of Woods and Flowers"
Battle of the Bands:
"Too Much Heartsick Feeling", "Oh, Daddy!", "Food"
Turtle Soup:
"Come Over", "She Always Leaves Me Laughing", "Torn Between Temptations", "John & Julie"
Wooden Head:
"She'll Come Back"*, "Get Away", "Wrong From the Start", "We'll Meet Again" (piano version), "On A Summer's Day", "Come Back", "Say Girl", "Tie Me Down"*
...and if we're talking about classic vinyl-era compilations, then you would also lack the following (grouped in order of first appearance):
Golden Hits:
"Is It Any Wonder"*
More Golden Hits:
"Cat In The Window"*
Happy Together Again: Greatest Hits
"Gas Money", "Teardrops", "There You Sit Lonely"*, "Santa and the Sidewalk Surfer"
Chalon Road:
"Umbassa and the Dragon", "The Last Thing I Remember" (demo version), "Chicken Little Was Right" (single version)
Shell Shock:
"Dance This Dance" (demo version)
* - available on Solid Zinc: The Turtles Anthology
"Is It Any Wonder" and "Gas Money" turn up on another budget Delta/Laserlight disc entitled Golden Hits (no relation to the White Whale LP).
All in all, though, this is an unbelievably very well done set for a budget label and the individual discs can be had for pennies. There are so many Turtles compilations on CD and download that it shouldn't be too hard to piece together the original albums. (Both the Repertoire and Sundazed CDs of the catalog are OOP and command high sums, so that would probably be the best choice.)
