Still Life Workshops

I offer a variety of in-person and online-only oil painting workshops. For my in-person workshops, students will be working directly from life from their own still life set up. I will discuss and then demonstrate each stage of the painting process. My workshops are open to all levels, from beginners to expert level painters. Each student will get plenty of one on one help and critique and the teaching will be focused on your individual needs.

“Painting the Vanitas”, September 21, Online-Only Webinar, Hosted by The Mill Studio of Fine Art, CT.

Join me September 21 for a four hour webinar that will explore the Dutch Golden Age of Painting as we focus on the genre of painting known as the Vanitas. These pictures were filled with symbols of mortality to remind the viewer that despite the luxurious objects and the sumptuous displays of food depicted in these paintings, that life was transient. Participants will come to understand more of the art history of this time as students observe a painting demonstration of a real human skull; a meaningful symbol of the brevity of the pleasures of life.
