I had a decent time during my four years at Flour Bluff. I made friends, enjoyed my classes, and especially enjoyed the extracurricular opportunities I was able to participate in. My teachers seemed to care for my learning and about my life outside of the classroom, and I felt supported in my dream to go to college.
Average/below average classes, even AP, with a few good exceptions. Good sports but they really only pay attention to football. Best part is UIL Academics.
Flour Bluff High School homes a lot of talented and academically-ready students for college. The extracurriculars featured in the school possess a sense of family and diversity.
My years at Flour Bluff High School have been amazing to say the least. The best part of my experience here at Flour Bluff is the school spirit and the opportunity to join many diverse clubs perfectly tailored to students’ interest. Specifically, the Fellowship of Christian Students club is a club where anyone can gather together, experience fellowship, and learn about the Lord. There is even a time of worship where we sing to the Lord! The worst part of my high school experience has been the closing of bathrooms due to thievery but that is not the school’s fault. Overall, high school has been a wonderful place to build friendships and make memories!
Flour Bluff has many great opportunities to earn college credit using both AP courses and Dual Credit Courses taken at the high school. I had an awesome experience being involved in the Viking Academy program, which allowed me to attend college classes at nearby Del Mar College to earn college credit. Through this program, I was able to get dual credit while also having the ability to gain experience by being on an actual college campus.
Great atmosphere and student body, excellent programs and plenty of opportunities. You can build a plane, get your drone license, learn how to weld, take loads of college and AP courses, and so much more.
I had a great time at Flour Bluff high school. I was on the swim team for all four years and it taught me discipline and how to work hard for my goals. The swim team was a great group of people and I found some of my best friends through it. The school has great teachers and a great curriculum. The AP classes definitely prepared me for college (honestly I think some of my high school AP classes were harder than college classes). Overall, Flour Bluff high school is a great high school for students in Corpus Christi.
Education there was definitely great, but lot's of drama and illegal deals happening in the hallways.
I enjoyed my time at a Flour high school even though Covid did hit during my time there. There isn’t anything that needs changes other than maybe applying the dress code throughout the whole school whereas sometimes it seems like the dress code is applied more to some than others.
Flour Bluff School District was a great experience for me. Every teacher I had loved their job and loved their students. The Administration also stood up for the students in Flour Bluff when problems arose in the district. Problems like; fires, outside threats, bad weather conditions, power outages, and more. Likewise, the security in the school made sure of the students and staff of the schools safety. The student body cared for one another for the and everyone helped one another. The one thing I would like to see a change in is the maintenance of the high school. Other than that, the Flour Bluff School District is a great school.
I liked Flour Bluff High School because it provided me with a quality education. The majority of my teachers taught me very well and I learned a lot from my classes. Flour Bluff offered many dual credit opportunities that allowed me to earn 30+ hours of college credit before I graduated. The campus felt safe and the administrators were generally friendly. Another reason I liked Flour Bluff is because it was inclusive and had lots of clubs and organizations. One thing I would like to change about Flour Bluff High School is the building. It was built 1999 and could use some upgrading.
Flour Bluff High School has had a lot of changes made recently, so for a little while I would have rated it average, but I think that the school is finally getting things together. The school has a few bad teachers, but it makes up for it with some great teachers that very apparently enjoy their job and know what they are doing. There is a good amount of events for seniors and the education and fun overall are a good experience. Aside from a few poor decisions, I believe that it is a good school. If I could, I would rate it a 3.7.
I love the school itself, but the other kids here are not my cup of Tea. Some of the kids just don't take accountability for their action, so it looks bad on the teachers.
Flourbluff is an amazing school. There is a great supportive community and is definitely worth coming to
i think its definitely the best school in the area, i do wish it was a little lest strict especially on athletics policies and such but other than that i cant imagine a better place to go.
Has a nationally-recognized NJROTC program; great academics; great teachers in all subjects, except English; excellent welding, in-school job training programs, and college readiness (dual credit)
Flour Bluff High School is a mellow school where bullying and harassment are practically nonexistent. The academic and sport programs are exceptional. The school offers an assortment of advanced placement, dual credit, and ON-RAMPS classes that provide college credit. The school also offers various career related classes that will build their skills in areas such as cosmetology or can give them the opportunity to earn medical field certifications. While the bluff is not a perfect school, it really shines through with the opportunities that it gives to the students.
