Ach ja, die Reihe lief damals auf RTL 2 rauf und runter.
Brian Dennehy spielt den Chefmeteorologen des nationalen Wetterdienstes und macht eine schreckliche Entdeckung. Drei Unwetterfronten rasen aufeinander zu und drohen einen mehre starke Tornados zu erzeugen mit einer gewaltigen Zerstörungskraft. Nachdem das Stromnetz lahmgelegt ist drohen die Stürme, sich über Chicago zu einem Supersturm zu vereinen.
Könnte zwar aus dem Hause Asylum sein, aber tatsächlich ist die Qualität hier deutlich höher, wobei die Laufzeit von 3 Stunden schon ihre Länge mitbringt.
Vom Cast kannte ich hier nur Dennehy und Randy Quaid obwohl nach Recherche die eigentlichen Hauptdarsteller gar nicht mal so unbekannte Nasen sind. Highlight bleibt aber ganz klar Quaid als Tornado Tommy, der hat hier nämlich die…

This movie is hilarious, I know it's supposed to be a drama but everything that's supposed to scare you is so horribly done it's funny. I got a good laugh. Don't watch it.
This tv mini-series was clearly made with the intent of cashing in on the success of Roland Emmerich’s The Day After Tomorrow, which concerned the US being hit by a massive superstorm created by global warming. Category 6: Day of Destruction seems to be trying to create the same sort of superstorm drama for the small screen.
Indeed, Category 6 seems to be a mini-series that is trying to be a little bit of everything, throwing a dash of every other then recent disaster movie – there are the multiple storm fronts converging to create a superstorm as in The Perfect Storm; there’s the mad tornado chaser a la Twister; there’s the power blackout story, which has been done in…
Tried to do too much. Should’ve focussed on the weather events rather than trying to make a political statement about the deregulation of power networks.
