Celtic announce another fan favourite to make return for May match

Celtic Legends will take on Borussia Dortmund’s icons in an exciting charity match at Parkhead that the Celtic FC Foundation has organised.

Some familiar names have already been announced ahead of the event commencing on May 26th at 2 pm, which tickets are still widely available for via the official club website.

Scott Brown will lead the Bhoys out; meanwhile, Emilio Izaguirre, Charlie Mulgrew, Joe Ledley, Gary Hooper, Stephen McManus, Darren O’Dea, and Jan Venegoor of Hesselink are among star-studded individuals who will participate in the name of a good cause.

All funds raised from the occasion will be distributed among various locations in the UK & Ireland, with the aim of supplying food provision amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

Dundee Cancer Centre at Ninewells Hospital is also set to receive a donation as the Celtic Foundation continue to hold up one of Celtic’s pillars from their foundation by providing aid via charitable gestures.

On what is set to be an afternoon packed full of action, more players will be announced in due course as we edge closer to the end of the season.

Artur Boruc returns to feature for Celtic Legends

In a surprise development, Celtic have announced that iconic former goalkeeper Artur Boruc, otherwise known as the ‘Holy Goalie’, will return to feature for the Legends squad against Borussia Dortmund.

Between 2005 and 2010, the 44-year-old made 201 appearances in all competitions for Celtic, keeping 80 clean sheets and claiming three Scottish Premiership titles, one Scottish Cup, and two Scottish League Cup trophies.

Celtic were also Legia Warsaw’s opponents in Boruc’s farewell match before he retired from professional football in 2022, illustrating his deep connection with both clubs and their supporters.

Now, we have a chance to see him back in action at Parkhead, which is bound to create a sense of anticipation ahead of our Legends taking on Borussia Dortmund.
