(KUTV) -- Kari Hawker-Diaz is up for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Woman of the Year! We have Aleigh Hatton-Ward, Senior Campaign Manager, also joining us on the show today to talk to us about what the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is. LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to finding cures for blood cancer, ensure patients have access to lifesaving treatments, as well as support along their journey. 80 cents of every dollar raised goes back towards our mission. LLS is saving lives, TODAY.

The Man & Woman of The Year Campaign (MWOY) is communities across the country, dynamic, passionate people are engaging in a spirited competition. Candidates compete for the most votes in male and female categories; one vote equals $1. The man and woman who raise the most funds are named the Man & Woman of the Year in each city. The man and woman who raise the most money across the country are named the National Man & Woman of the Year.

Kari also shares her story about her Father's Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
