Peter Bogdanovich, George Clooney, David Brown, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Richard Dreyfuss, Morgan Freeman, Jodie Foster, Robert Evans, Brian Grazer, John Singleton and Sydney Pollack are among the people interviewed for this documentary, based on the book, that takes a look at Hollywood and their disasters.
I haven't read the actual book so I'm really not sure what all was covered but this documentary is certainly entertaining but extremely flawed to say the least. I say that because this movie is supposed to be about bombs yet CLEOPATRA from Fox and HEAVEN'S GATE are never mentioned throughout the film.
How can two of the biggest bombs in history not be mentioned? Maybe it's because this film was aimed at more…
Entertaining, moving and very insightful make Boffo! Tinseltown's Bombs and Blockbusters a thoroughly enjoyable documentary exploring the challenges of making successful films in Hollywood, the impact they can cause and other factors that come into play. Any and to all aspiring film students out there should definitely check this out to prepare yourself when you might have a seat in a director's chair.
Professor said this was the best documentary about the job of a producer he'd seen. Maybe it is.
It just sucks that this editor edited like a sexist.
