The music sound was great
Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2018
Great band, and having these three albums on 2 CDs rounds out the collection. Rick Roberts is one of rock's premier songwriters and singers, and the band is complemented by the formidable talents of Larry Burnett & Jock Bartley. The rest of the band ain't too shabby either.
Fans of this band will appreciate this collection as well as the first volume that contains the first three albums.

Been looking all over for it. Arrived in no time at all. The sounds of Larry Burnett's guitar on "Business is Business" and "Old Wing Mouth" bring back the memories. Rick Roberts stirs things up with "Undertow", Staying with It", "Some Things Never Change", and "Love That Got Away". Jock Bartley's guitar and vocals on "Be in Love Tonight" and "Quite Like You" started a new style for Firefall's music. Good stuff and worth a listen if you haven't heard it before.

This is a unique buy in that there are two good albums on one CD. "Undertow" is the stronger of the two works while "Clouds Across the Sun" is still a solid collection, considering it was probably the last album produced using the band's familiar lineup. If you're a Firefall fan, you should have these to round out your collection.

Great selection and recorded well!

The re-mastered sound in this set is as good as Firefall,s first 3 cd set that came out first on the same label. Both sets are imports.

The soft-rocking group FIREFALL had some great hits during their heydey in the late 70's/early 80's---You Are the Woman. Just Remember I Love You. Strange Way, Cinderella, So Long, to mention a few.
This hard to find double CD contains two of their best later offerings. Vocalists Rick Roberts, Jock Bartley and Larry Burnett pave the way with great harmonies too. UNDERTOW has some fine tracks: LOVE THAT GOT AWAY, HEADED FOR A FALL, STARDUST, IF YOU ONLY KNEW, and SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE.
CLOUDS ACROSS THE SUN is just as good. Notably the haunting, driving title track; Jimmy Webb's plaintive OLD WING MOUTH; I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT; DREAMERS; LOVE AIN'T WHAT IT SEEMS; and the angry DON'T IT FEEL EMPTY. The musicians are superb with great guitar, sax and flute solos and strong string arrangements. Add this to their self-titled debut, ELAN and LUNA SEA, you've got the best of a great easy rockers collection.

Les 3 albums de 1980 à 1982
Reviewed in France on November 5, 2022
Ils n'ont connu véritablement qu’un seul hit, « You are the woman ».

Three Great Albums at a good price
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 17, 2023
I liked these albums when I bought them on vinyl back in the 70s. They have been well played over the years, and I was delighted to find that they'd been re-released on CD. These albums sound mostly about as good as the original vinyl, but I don't appreciate the deliberate clipping that seems now to be commonplace on CD re-releases.
The record companies need to realise that clipping IS audible, and is unnecessary - it's a lazy way to make an old album sound "louder". The beauty of CD was supposed to be the enhanced dynamic range available, but the modern propensity for clipping everything is making people turn to FLAC rips from the original vinyls (often widely available on line at little or no cost). If the record companies persist with this inept over-level re-recording, they'll lose all the very limited sales they still have!

Three more albums from Firefall
Reviewed in Sweden on September 24, 2022
This CDs contain the three next albums from Firefall. One of them is with the member that started the group, Rick Roberts. The sound quality is very good too! Good music from this ”underrated” country rock group. Recommended!

Great Price and Re-mastered

Great Price and Re-mastered. Undertow / Clouds Across the Sun were released in the past by Wounded Bird Records out of New York , USA but are now out of print. If you can find a copy the price is a bit high, since when it was released then for $12.98 in the USA. Here you also get Break of Dawn Firefall,s 6th cd.
